If that is the case, then dust becomes the reason for universal use. Like this, the mind that does not appear to be different is not an object of its own nature, because there is no knowledge of its own nature. How is that? It is said that even if there is no self-nature, there is a general mind. It is said that those who follow and do not follow are only those who do not hold on to it, and it is not held, which is called one's own consciousness. If, due to the difference of causes, different phenomena appear even for one thing, then only one thing can be understood in different forms by language, and the senses can also be in different ways, just like the measurer who is in a distant and near place. This is a child's statement, if only one thing is to be known, even if the causes are different, because that thing is not different, it is impossible for different appearances to occur. Even if it is different, it will not become that thing appearing. So, how to distinguish the clarity and unclearness of distant objects? If the nature to be known through experience as mentioned above is analyzed in detail, it should be determined as it is reasonable. The nature to be known through a single concept is also not in its own nature, which is called having many forms such as parts for one thing. If many forms are one, then many natures will become one, which is too much. Therefore, saying that this which does not appear different in reality is not an object of its own nature is called because of that. So, how can it be said that knowledge is a clear object? From whose point of view? When establishing the universalist, it is said that even if it does not appear, it is because of the illusion of special attachment. Even in the mind without difference, different things do not appear. In order to show the illusion of special attachment, it is said that the form that appears there. Because in the mind without difference, the form that appears is only without difference. That is not in things, except for the difference without difference. Then, the nature without difference will exist in things.

If asked why, the answer is: The nature of non-difference, merely being itself, cannot be recognized as the aspect of non-difference. The so-called "that only" is difference itself. Connecting the words of clinging is because, with the nature of that aspect fully understood, through imputation, things all become difference itself, relying on special clinging, becoming the object of that aspect, all of which has been said before. The general meaning is that, according to others' views, it also says "that mind" etc., in this way explaining that this fault is the same, so it says "also". According to that view, with the mind that appears as non-different, brightness is taken as the object. The answer is: Not the same. For that, that is, for those, there is also a common non-difference. Therefore, for bright things, the mind that thinks of non-difference is not reasonable, if asked in this way, in order to refute it, it is said "for that also exists". The previously mentioned "according to others' views, that mind" etc., refers to two consciousnesses that appear as non-different, having the same taste, without expression, it should be admitted that they have bright objects, if imposing fault in this way, then that aspect is also the common nature, or the bright nature? It has not yet been determined. Here it is determined in this way: Even if it is admitted to exist in the mind that appears as non-different, there is no understanding of appearing as common. Because the mind that appears as non-different is understood to have the appearance of shape and form. Appearing as different is root consciousness, or it will become something else. In either case, there is no other appearance other than shape and form. Where non-difference is understood, there shape etc. itself appears as difference. The common is not like that, because shape etc. are considered as qualities. Apart from becoming common, there is no other non-difference appearance. Therefore, even with the appearance of common non-difference, other common cannot be established. So, if the aspect is admitted to be common, then the very thing that becomes that appearance of non-difference is common, if asked in this way, so it is said to say that the aspect is common etc. Because the common is non-different from the particular, so like the particular, the common is also the basis of the particular.
