The cause of earth, those aggregates are the cause. Because of that reason, even if one of them does not exist, eye consciousness will arise, just like blue, yellow is also a cause. Even if there is no blue, it will arise from its own cause, yellow, and similarly, even if there is no yellow, it will arise from blue. When they are gathered together, there is no contradiction either. If something is missing, it cannot be directly said that there is no knowing, because if any one is missing, not knowing will become not a cause, the so-called aggregate, in reality, there is nothing else that exists. Because it exists, there will be doubt, is this knowing from the universal, or from both? Because the manifested things, when gathered together, will be recognized as cows, or separately recognize this as a cow, so it is not the real cause of that knowing, therefore they are not the same. The commentary is, for blue and so on. In order to show that blue and so on are not the same as the manifested things, the commentary is, the manifested things are. The thinking is like this, if the manifested things that are empty of the universal produce subsequent consciousness, then, just like blue and so on, these will become the cause of that consciousness. The manifested things do not produce knowing without relying on the universal, but only produce it together with the universal. If this is the case, then is this consciousness produced from the universal, or from both the universal and its own self-nature? It is only doubt. Therefore, because the manifested things Even if they do not exist separately, the knowing of the universal will arise, and the reason for the gathering of blue and so on has not been established, therefore the manifested things are completely incapable. In order to explain that if each of those things does not exist, that consciousness will arise, therefore it will not become its result. If for some of those things. It is said like this. The universal with the common action of the manifested things will produce subsequent consciousness. Therefore, even if those things do not exist separately, it will produce, even if that is the case, it is not produced without relying on the manifested things, because if all the manifested things are missing, it will also produce, that would be too much.

If there is no arising without (a cause), it is because there is another co-emergent clarity, so it arises co-emergently with it. Therefore, clarity is co-emergent with the general, and the general is also the co-emergent consciousness of clarity, in order to generate that consciousness, so there is no clarity. This explanation is the words "if indeed." A weaver cannot weave cloth without a loom and shuttle, because it cannot be woven by relying on just one (weaver). Even so, even if one shuttle is missing, other shuttles can weave, and if that is missing, others can. Therefore, even if each of those (shuttles) is missing, weaving is possible, so the shuttle itself is not the cause, because even if one shuttle is missing, other shuttles can weave. The phrase "relying solely on it" means relying solely on the weaver who is separated from the shuttle. Similarly, the mere generality is not the cause of that consciousness. Thus, it is said that the opponent cannot demonstrate concomitance and contradiction. Even so, there is doubt about the concomitance, because here there are situations such as shuttles, but it is uncertain. Just as it is understood that without a shuttle, it cannot arise solely from the weaver, it is not the case that without clarity, it cannot arise solely from the generality, because in the view that speaks of having pervaded all clarities, in the realm devoid of clarity, it does not exist. For that which has not pervaded all, if there is no clarity, then because it has not become clarity, is that consciousness not established? Or is it because there is no co-emergence? This is uncertain. If it is co-emergent, then it arises from those two, and if it is from what is manifestly clear by clarity, then it arises solely from the generality. The generation of that which is immediately subsequent to appearance is not established, because in undifferentiated consciousness, when clarity is not established, the delusion that only those unestablished clarities appear in one way is the reason for general consciousness, and when this is argued, only clarity that is co-emergent with the general is suitable as the object of support, and this is to refute the views of others. That is, even if the cause itself is not established, one acknowledges it and explains other faults, and this is "if that is so." Even if there is the situation of a weaver, if clarities are helpful to the general, then how are they helpful to a single mind itself?
