Thus it is said, if one does not speak of difference, then it does not become common, because difference itself is not permissible. If it is unreasonable for things, if it is assumed that it exists in realization, then it will become a follower of realization itself, not a follower of things. If it is the object of things, then it will not become a fault with "the self-nature of meaning is one," etc., and that will not be the case either. Therefore, it is reasonable to admit that mind itself is like that. What it shows is "sound and measure are one," etc. If the mind knows things, then it is the arising of the near-taking caused by things as previously stated. When abandoning following things and relying on mind itself, then on the appearance of mind without things, "according to what mind difference, holding various different meanings," etc., will not become a fault. That explains that what appears to the mind is because there are no things. In following the mind, although there is no fault of "the self-nature of meaning is one," etc., if asked how there is no fault of no commonality in the occasion, then "that is not different," etc., has been said. Commonality, etc., are not contradictory as they are known. With "the only one," etc., it is said that there is no fault of no generality. Because there is no commonality, there is also no difference and the basis of difference. The general, etc., those that do not go beyond realization are not contradictory. The contradiction on things has been explained. With "cow," etc., the general non-difference appears on the mind, so the general is not contradictory. Although the cow is taken as one object, whether it is white or black here, not being certain of other aspects such as white, taken by the mind with the desire for other aspects such as white, and the establishment of different meanings of sounds such as white, etc., also with cow as white, white, etc., non-differently appear on the mind, so the difference and the basis of difference and commonality are not contradictory. When desiring the object itself, because of knowing the connection with what is suitable to abide, therefore, by the power of indication, the white cow's

It is not as certain as I am. Therefore, what is it that distinguishes other qualities by its qualities? It is the difference between qualities and qualities, and the basis of the difference. What is related to others is the common basis. Therefore, the two are arranged in this way. In this way, what appears in the mind also greatly shows the difference between the Dharma and the Dharmī. How is it? It is explained that the object that appears in this way is called the sound of Dharma, which is expressed by abandoning other characteristics, and its essence is regarded as the nature of Dharma, which is different from it. This explains that it is extremely shown as Dharma. It also explains that it is extremely shown as Dharmī: as mentioned earlier, it is not distinguished by the characteristics of abandoning other characteristics, that is, the meaning of not abandoning other characteristics. For example, just like saying "the brindle cow itself", this essence is regarded as the other Dharmī itself. Why is it so distinguished and shown? Because it is said to be different from many meanings. Although it is different from many meanings, in order to know whether it exists or not, which is different from a single meaning, it is established as the nature of Dharma. A part of this essence is established as Dharmī, and then it is negated or affirmed. For example, for a brindle cow, there is the attribute of a cow, but when you want to know the attribute of a horse, you will think in your mind, "It is not so." If things are established in that way, is it because things themselves are like that? The answer is no. Because it appears that way in the mind. When you want to know what something is, you will understand it as it appears in your mind. It is only because of abandoning or not abandoning other characteristics that Dharma and Dharmī are different, but things themselves are not different. It is only because the Dharma that depends on the mind is different, accompanied by different words, that proof can be made, and impermanence itself is to be proved. Thus, showing that the difference between the provers and the provable is the ultimate essence of things is the ultimate meaning of the word "do". Therefore, in order to understand in this way, by establishing the proposition such as "for the meaning in appearance", by holding things, etc.
