If medicines that can pacify diseases, etc., exist, since they are subject to arising and ceasing, then, if this manifestation exists, will it arise? If one says generally that it does, but cannot distinguish between following and contradicting, then even so, one will eliminate the general result through other means and determine that it is only the result of that manifestation. Like this, even if the cause has no difference, the result will become different. Just as there is a result but no cause, the following and contradicting are also non-existent. Because in general, no difference can possibly exist. Therefore, if it is its result, then medicines, etc., will be different due to the differences in fields, etc., while the pacification of plagues, etc., will become without difference. But there are also differences, because in some fields, such as radishes, etc., their efficacy itself cannot act quickly, while in others it cannot. If one says "if," etc., this is explaining. Or one says that fields, etc., are different, but in general, it will not become different. If fields are different, in general, it will also become different, then for different manifestations, due to different reasons, the recognition will also not become the same, because they are different. Therefore, this will excessively lead to the loss of one's own essence. Another refutation is called "teaching." If one says "what," then it shows that it is related to the general nature that is being discussed. The reason is that because there is no help, the general nature is constant, and even if it changes, it is not helpful. Therefore, one cannot say that like manifestations, even if the general nature exists, a result will arise, because the general nature itself having no result is harmful. The lack of help itself is established by "if this," etc. If the general nature produces a result, then because it does not depend on arising together, it will immediately accomplish everything. This will also become manifest. If, like the general nature, the manifestation is also not momentary, then because it is not helpful to anything. If so, by refuting the general nature, what special thing can one say? How can there be no special thing? Like this, the manifestation is not momentary, so it will not closely combine.

Then, in an instant, it will be helpful. If the general characteristic is not momentary, then its own nature will disappear. For example, precisely because the general and specific characteristics are not different, and there is no benefit, it is proven that it is not the cause of the difference in the result, because the manifestation is with difference, so in order to show that it is in accordance with that difference. Manifestation is called time and place. Establishing difference from the difference of cause will become the difference of result. This will also be shown from the front in an instant. Therefore, like some medicines, etc., understanding one meaning, knowing the meaning, etc. After saying entering the treatise, showing the establishment of understanding one, etc., is like that. Therefore, it shows that those things that are not its result are also established as different without difference, that is, when doing those things, because they are different from those that do not do those things, so it is said that they are not different. Because those are also different from non-causes, it is said that those are not different, that is, one. If you think like that, if you abide in the general characteristic being acknowledged, and the conceptual thought is not the object of things, and there is no general characteristic at all, then, in order to show that even if the conceptual thought is not the object of things, it can establish the true abiding of the meaning on the general characteristic that depends on the mind, and initiate the dispute, that is, what else. If you ask what faults there are in both cases and argue, then what will happen to that. Because the self-characteristic cannot be the object of conceptual thought, it is known that the general characteristic with exclusion of others as its characteristic, the self-characteristic is the same as the external object. Or, if it is not an external object, then how does it function? This is said in this way, because conceptual thoughts are not the object of things, so if it is not a general characteristic of this kind of self-nature, one cannot know that the self-characteristic is the same, however, the self-nature of things is only other. Then, how can one enter by inferring fire from smoke, and obtain what is to be established by fire? That conceptual thought is the fire's
