Because without it, it would not be its own nature. Therefore, in general, just like a coarse form, it does not exist even conventionally. However, it is just non-existent like a rabbit's horn. Therefore, understanding the nature of knowledge, the uncommon, the momentary blue, etc., as external, common, and previously seen, is merely attachment, not wisdom. Because other than the self-nature of knowledge as stated, it is unreasonable, and it does not have such a form, so it is not wisdom itself. This is what is said: things, etc. What others acknowledge or the self-nature of knowledge is different, because the self-nature of knowledge, the oneness of existence, is not established, so it is not the nature of the whole. Holding things as a whole in that way, that is, the discriminating mind in the form of attachment, is wrong. Like the whole, isn't this also a wrong discriminating mind for the nature of blue, etc.? Indeed, but that is because of the external, not the nature of blue. Because that is the self-nature of knowledge, the object of self-awareness, so the error is not established. If one does not know it as it is, then cognition is the discriminating mind of the hand, but it is not untrue in knowledge itself, because just like the heretics who speak of external things, there is no contradiction in knowledge itself. Therefore, only because of the nature of attachment, the discriminating mind is the nature of error, so the error called discriminating mind actually refers to inverted attachment. If it is also as stated by the upholders of the Sutras, then holding it in that way is the nature of attachment, so saying that discriminating mind is only wrong is the most excellent. Now, because of attachment to its nature, the aspect that is said is acknowledged. In order to show what is the basis for the arising of knowledge in that way, that is, what is to be expressed that points to others, so it is said that name and meaning are consistent. For this, how to discriminate the Dharma?

As previously stated, excluding other supports, this indicates that understanding the following of the Dharma is also the same. Here, when excluding anything that is different from anything else and falling into being non-different from that thing, it is said that through the object of different actions, the nature is also distinguished as different. Therefore, the seed of this different Dharma is reversed. Similarly, for things that are not like that, universal understanding is not without reason, because difference is the reason. For example, the nature of variegated cows, etc., is different from non-cows individually. Therefore, just as variegated is different from non-cows, so is yellow, and other clear distinctions are also similar. Therefore, when these things of different kinds fall into non-difference, because the non-cow that is established as one is also the same in other places, therefore, being non-different from this, having the result of dispelling, for all the differences of cows, the arising of one cow's conceptualization is without incompatibility. Because the nature of these things cannot become one, therefore, for these things, the conceptualization that has the result of understanding the nature does not arise. The nature that is different from these things is one, and this is also established on them one by one with inverted consciousness. Correct Consciousness, clinging to non-difference in different things is contradictory, but others are not, because inversion is inverted by inverted establishment. The only one other than all the differences of cows is also a non-cow, and this only one is established on all these by delusion. Therefore, because it is reasonable to establish it in this way, in order to distinguish what the illusion that is also one in nature will become, it is also reasonable to dispel it from the arising of one understanding of these things. If the nature is not understood as one, then one conceptualization does not arise. Because this will give rise to one, the universal error is produced by the power of arising. Arising also depends on establishment, and establishment comes from difference, therefore this understanding has the seed of difference. If difference is uni-

Is it not the case that the object of conceptual thought is not a seed? Indeed, it is. However, as it is said, it is of the very nature that is not different from those particularities, different from others. Because there is no nature of difference. Thus explained, whatever is different from other things is not an object, but only a seed, as it is said. What is said, "That itself is the reasonableness of the seed," refers to the correspondence between name and meaning. Sound has the object of excluding others, therefore, excluding others itself is the seed of general knowledge. Because the object of conceptual thought is the meaning of sound. This shows that names have mutually distinct meanings. Here, what is said, "correspondence between name and meaning," is to explain that the certainty of mutual distinction itself is the meaning of the seed. Thus, if what is not possessed by other things is also merely difference, then it has no connection whatsoever with conceptual thought and cognition. It can be thought that the difference that is the characteristic of severing superimposition is the seed, because it has already been shown that sound is also for this meaning. Therefore, in order to explain that that difference is the seed, it is said, "correspondence between name and meaning." If it is mistaken to think that something is a superimposition because it does not exist in a certain place, even so, in order to dispel it, conceptual thought intervenes, is it not possible that it is also a seed? Indeed, but in order to directly express the essence of the seed, it is arranged in this way. Precisely for this reason, the detailed explanation also says that mutual distinction is the seed. What is that? It is said that it is for the sake of knowing something. That is, the meaning of severing superimposition. If, just as the variegated color is different from the vase, it is also different from the yellow color, then just as the variegated color and the vase are, the variegated color and the yellow color are also the same, because they are devoid of any identical or different properties. Therefore, the variegated color itself is a cow, so whatever is different from it is not a cow, so the vase is not a cow. The yellow color will also become not a cow. However, is that difference itself not a non-existent branch?
