The doubt is that it has been said "what is to be proven." "What is to be proven is the same" refers to what is to be proven, such as milking and loading. If it is said, aren't the milking of each appearance different? It is true that they are different. This is different when it becomes milking itself, but because it is extracting water itself, it is not, therefore it is said to be non-different. Similarly, because it is proven by one thing that is the characteristic of a cow, the proof is the same, because all cows are proven by cows, so it is certain that it has the same proof. Even though the different cows that produce each appearance of the cow are different, they are said to be non-different because they have become the cow itself, just as before. Therefore, this means that there is a mutual non-compliance between each of the abilities of milking and loading. This is just an approximate example. As explained before, there is no cow itself that does not comply with these things. Therefore, it is merely the arising of the cognition "this is a cow," and even so, because it does not recognize the difference, the cognition is non-different. Therefore, in the non-conceptual mind that possesses the seeds of conceptual thought, when the nature of the object remains, because the appearance of such conceptual thought arises, this appearance that arises from the object as non-different is the nature of the objects themselves. By placing the meaning of the second verse, the word "conventional" is explained. Why is this explained? Because the word "conventional" is related to the word "wisdom." Otherwise, it would be understood as appearing as non-different in the conventional. Non-difference is also not conventional, because it would become existent. Because this examination is non-existent, it will be explained that therefore this conceptual thought that clings to things as one is mistaken. The appearance of conceptual thought exists, but it is not conventional, because there is no unreasonableness, just like the appearance of direct perception. For those who speak of all-knowing, the appearance of direct perception is also merely conventional. Wisdom is not said to be conventional because it is not unreasonable, like the object of error.

Therefore, as it is said, abandoning the conventional meaning and declaring this truth, it shows that it appears as if there is no difference. The word "similarly" is spoken because there is actually no recognition of non-difference. In this way, it will also be declared. That is said because of his intention. Therefore, saying "therefore" is for that reason. The followers say that in the appearance of the mind, those things that appear without difference are merely universals. Although they appear without difference, it is said that one can also attain abiding in the mind, which is explained by the phrase "appearing in the mind." If it is merely a universal that appears in the mind, then how can it be said that the self-nature obscures its own self-nature with the nature of others? This indicates that it spreads universally like an external object, meaning those who are attached to external objects. How is that so? It is said because of completely grasping the distinctions of appearances. Because of experiencing the distinctions of appearances of external objects, when one understands appearances in that way, the distinctions of appearances become clear, and a nature of greater attachment to meaning arises. If it becomes a universal depending on the mind's intention, then saying that eliminating others is the nature of the universal is contradictory. To strengthen this point, it is said, "Other proponents." The answer is that the appearance of the mind itself is the elimination of others. How is the appearance of the mind the elimination of others? Because no matter how much the cognizer imputes, it will return from the meaning of becoming one with its own nature, therefore it itself is the elimination of others. Therefore, how can it be said that the appearance of conceptual thought itself is the elimination of others? Because for it, there is no returning from others that is preceded by the elimination of imputation. Imputation is for entering into the meaning itself, not for entering into the appearance of the mind. To prevent that, it is said, "That is it itself." When one realizes one's own appearance, due to the delusion of the mind, it appears as if one is clinging to objects, because one will enter with greater attachment to one's own self-nature. Therefore, when clinging to the appearance of one's own self-nature, because it appears as if one is clinging to objects, relative to that, it is an object, and one imputes to the object.
