Furthermore, it is said thus: The appearance of blue, presuming to be the actual manifestation of one's own nature, is called conceptualization. That which manifests as the blue appearance itself, because it is known by oneself, is not conceptualized in relation to one's own nature. Such an appearance is not merely the ultimate culmination of one's own nature. However, due to such intense clinging, it is indeed dependent on an object, therefore these are conceptualizations, just as sense consciousness itself is not manifest. The nature of clinging arises from conceptualization, therefore, that itself is indeed conceptualization. The mere appearance of blue is also present in sense consciousness. Because this (conceptualization) is the agent of prior and subsequent experiences, the root of awakening, therefore it is understood as being real. Therefore, conceptualization is the nature of non-clinging. Therefore, conceptualization, which is clinging, is also the blue appearance, on one's own essence, in the manner of seeing prior and subsequent natures, how does clinging arise, such a clinging appearance is said to be conceptualized. The nature of objects seen before and after, transforming into the essence of knowledge, does not exist, therefore, the completely imputed is said to be without substance. Although it does not exist, it is not that appearance does not exist, because clinging is the nature of non-appearance, as has already been said. Because to some extent, even without appearance, clinging does not arise, therefore, clinging to only such an image of conceptualization, therefore, only in such a way is one's own essence called an object. Delusion is also merely the dharma of cognition, even if cognition does not recognize its own characteristics, but because it clings to its image as its own characteristic, it turns its back on seeking other methods for the sake of recognizing it. Therefore, the characteristic of such an appearance of oneself is to be expressed only by such clinging, because is one's own nature, which is different from everything, to be expressed? If it is not so, then the expression will become meaningless.

It is not because that is its true object. Therefore, the term "therefore" is because of that reason. The term "thus" means that by the nature of particularly clinging to one's own image as one's own characteristic, it is said that one's own characteristic is shown. Because it generates the realization of the nature of particularly clinging to one's own characteristic, therefore one's own characteristic is declared, not by other aspects. Why is it only this aspect, and there is no other? It is explained that the realization of the meaning of sound is just like that. Because whatever realization of meaning comes from sound, even what is not one's own nature enters with particular clinging, and precisely because of that, it is only this aspect. Explaining the absence of other aspects is called "appearing by one's own essence." Here, it is said "now," because since the essence that is different from everything in reality is not made an object, even saying one would lead to the fault of declaring all dharmas, without any subsequent connection. Thus, relying on particular clinging, it is said that only one's own characteristic is declared, and that is also by the nature of being uniquely different, so how could there be a general aspect? Even so, it is thought, how can it not be contradictory to abandon declaring that and to accept it as having a general object? Showing this itself is called "for those with a uniquely different essence." The reason is stated, called "because of being related to those." Because it is not related to one's own essence, it is established as different. The meaning of the word "unique" is stated, called "because there is no other either." If there were others in these, then those who are different by their own essence would also be related by its nature. Because there is none of that, it is uniquely different. To refute this, it is said what is common has already been said, saying "because it appears in that mind," and so on. There, two aspects are also explained: by the power of that mind, that is said to be common, and that is also by the object of eliminating others, that is the essence of eliminating others. For that, by the power of mental thought, it is common, called "the various things," and so on.
