Furthermore, if it is based on its own root of close acquisition, then it becomes dissimilar. As the master Dignāga said, it is meaning, and also unseen, therefore it is the unseen meaning, which is a statement about hidden objects. Regarding this, it is merely a conceptualization of meaning, and nothing else, as it is said. For conceptualization, there are two possibilities: conceptualization itself, and the object of meaning arising from its nature. Here, because the object of that meaning is negated, only conceptualization remains. If that is the case, if one states the self-nature, it will become a statement that is different from everything, and stating "that is not desire either" is to eliminate it, as it is said, one should say "if that is the case." In this way, neither what is to be realized nor what realizes, realizes or shows its own nature. If it is realization or showing, then because it is different from everything, it will become a statement that is different from everything, and that is contradictory. If it is not made an object, then where is this fault? Because not making it an object is also because only others besides it are made objects. If it is made an object, then it will become not apprehended by the senses, as it is said. Clearly showing with the distinctive object itself is a statement about hearing about heavens and so on. If the word "heaven" is used to state heaven, then it will become realized like experiencing heaven. If it is established in the object of meaning, then different causes are not parts. Even if one is full of rice, or full of warm porridge, there is no difference, there is no distinction. If that is the case, then sounds and conceptualizations are not its objects, therefore it is not something that should state its own nature, therefore it will also become impossible to state through the exclusion of others. Therefore, how can it be said that the referent of the word "space" is stating self-nature? Similarly, it should not be stated as an object of excluding others either, because in all ways it does not touch its own nature, like the consciousness of two moons and so on. Or, if, as stated, by stating the ultimate exclusion of others, it becomes an object of excluding others, then

Because the subsequent conceptual thought has the fruit of eliminating the attachment to permanence, but it cannot realize impermanence itself, therefore it is meaningless. Therefore, it must be explained how this wisdom that eliminates other conceptual thoughts can become without wisdom about its own (nature). In order to explain how one thinks that sounds express meaning according to one's own desire, therefore it is said "therefore." Although the self-nature of things can be understood through realization, the image of conceptual thought is only unrelated to the self-nature of things. For those who do not truly understand the self-nature of things, the image of conceptual thought will also arise, because they are attached to it. Because of the particular attachment to the self-nature of things, this being realized or the one who realizes will be satisfied. If asked, what is it that one does not realize the self-nature of things, but is particularly attached to the self-nature of things? The answer is, this is not the realization of the self-nature of things, because conceptual thought is delusion, not the nature of realizing meaning, which has already been established before. Therefore, for those who say that there is no object, eliminating the attachment to evil views and having no root is the aspect of self-appearance of the wise. Because those with evil wisdom do not have external objects appearing, if it is thought that attachment to external objects is established through experience, if the external object is wisdom, then it is reasonable to say here that there is no object. Because whatever is to be known is the object, therefore, the wisdom of meaning becomes the object of meaning. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that the image of conceptual thought is only particularly attached to it. If this (conceptual thought) is not self-wisdom, then how can it have wisdom about the non-existence of things (the self-nature)? Whatever is realized by the wisdom of the non-existence of things, and what is the non-existence of things, is in no way a real thing. Therefore, because having the object of things is the wisdom of things, it is not permissible to understand non-things as things themselves. Non-things and things
