The image is made distinct by conceptualization. If here, one cognizes it as being of the nature of blue, etc., then the nature of the external blue, etc., as it has become, does not appear as such here, because it would be an instance of direct perception. Therefore, the aspect of conceptualization is different from the external blue. If one asks, "What is the difference here?" The answer is: The difference is not known. If someone, even when the eyes are not functioning, cognizes an object through conceptualization, one should ask that cognizer who would say, "I have not seen the object." Therefore, even for an object that is conceptually imputed, one will cognize not having seen it. What other object is there besides the object of consciousness? Therefore, since the nature that is the object of seeing does not appear here, but because something else appears, it is cognized in that way. Therefore, the difference is just that. Those foolish intellects who, even here, have not been able to point out the difference in their own entity, because they have made it impossible to do something meaningful, those inconsistent proclaimers, I have already refuted in detail elsewhere. The purpose of investigation is also for the sake of knowledge. Because there is no other cognition, there is no separation. Like this, because there is no function, if reversed, one will know it is fabrication. This has been refuted. If the image that is different from the aspect of the object is the image of conceptualization, then the aspect of knowing a yellow conch, etc., will also become the image of conceptualization, because it is an image that is different from white, etc. These are also not aspects of conceptualization, because their knowledge is without conceptualization. Therefore, the image that is different from the object is not the image of conceptualization. The statement that the aspect of yellow, etc., is different is said because it is different from the object that determines its place and time, because the yellow color of the conch that appears in the aspect of that place is not there, because it is the nature of white. Like that, it is not because that object does not exist at all. It is not that the yellow conch does not exist at all, but

Because it does not exist, the perception of a yellow conch is not one that has an object of things. As for how it appears to conceptual thought, it is simply impossible for it to be the same. Therefore, the appearance of conceptual thought does not match the thing. For that very reason, conceptual thought is not an appearance of things, so it is said to be like a seeming direct perception. Although the thing exists, the conceptual thought does not perceive it in that way, such as the two moons, etc. Although it is possible to perceive the thing, there is no such appearance there. Because conceptual thought does not manifest things, and because it is deceptive like deceiving the blind, it is said to be like a seeming direct perception. How is it understood that such a thing cannot exist at all? Because as soon as it arises, it would be a direct perception. The minds of the two moons, etc., although it is possible to be a direct perception as soon as they arise, they are eliminated by what harms them. Here, even the opportunity to exist is not obtained. Those who say that conceptual thought has an object of things also mistakenly think that it is another valid cognition. Therefore, here, the very fact that the thing is not clear makes it impossible for the thing to be a direct perception. Therefore, even if it is an illusion, it is different from the two moons, etc. Those are the nature of perceiving things, and even if the thing does not exist, they will perceive it, so it is said to be an illusion, but conceptual thought, according to the reasons mentioned above, even if it is mistaken in that way, it is not possible to have the nature of knowing things. Therefore, how this image exists, from the nature of knowledge, it is not an illusion, just as the moon in the mind, knowing that it is two moons through knowledge, is not an illusion. However, it should be said that there is a reversed certainty there. If this is not certain at all, then it will not become an illusion, because it is another object. How is it recognized that this image does not match that thing? It is said that it is unrelated to its own nature. In order to show how it exists, thinking that this is placed on the decaying one, it is unrelated to the nature of that, and does not have the characteristic of that cause. If this is produced by the thing, it will not be different.
