Likewise, the absence of inherent existence of space is also established because it possesses space that has become a special characteristic of such a nature. However, since that is the characteristic itself, etc., those will also become devoid of inherent existence. The characteristic of the various characteristics is precisely the transformation of the dependent basis into its own essence. Therefore, in order to realize that space itself is of such a nature, just like space, this is precisely the absence of inherent existence. However, if the characteristics such as pervasiveness, which have become the basis for realizing space, are not devoid of inherent existence, but space itself is devoid of inherent existence, then it would be too extreme. Even if it possesses the nature of a cow, it would become something other than a cow, such as a speckled one. The refutation of this is stated as "that also," and the word "also" is a جمع (Sanskrit). What is explained by "that" is space. If that is the case, then there is no realization either. It will become not an object of realization. If even possessing a generality that has become a characteristic that is not like this present one, it is devoid of inherent existence, then even if it possesses the nature of a cow, it will not be realized that a cow is a cow, because even if it possesses the nature of a cow, it is possible that it has the nature of not being a cow. If the characteristics themselves, etc., do indeed exist in space. And because that is devoid of inherent existence, even if space itself possesses others, how could those not be devoid of inherent existence? The answer is: the nature of space is devoid of inherent existence, and its characteristic is also space itself. Pervasiveness is pervasiveness. Therefore, pervasiveness itself is not devoid of inherent existence. For example, the same thing is the nature of a cow from the nature of a cow, and it is the nature of a speckled one from the nature of a speckled one, but the nature of a cow is not like the nature of a speckled one. Similarly, how can the words such as the collection of six objects exist as objects, since there is no other collection of the essence of the six objects? That is not a generality, because the six all have a generality, and the generality also does not have a generality. Nor is it possessed of number, because those have qualities, and that is not a quality. Similarly, others should also be understood.

The explanation is as follows: "Thus," and so on. Therefore, since "all things," and so on, precede in expressing their own nature, then the valid cognition that has the exclusion of others as its object should be explained. Regarding this, through "different from others," and so on, in order to eliminate the doubt that the teacher's intention refers to something else, the answer is given by thoroughly refuting it. Now, in order to distinguish the function of the conceptual minds that take as their object by way of excluding others, now the opponent who has already been refuted is stated. The answer that has already been explained is applied with "space." It is said thus: If there is no such thing as "the nature of space" that is different from space, then one would not say "space." However, the reason why one says "the nature of space" is that one definitely grasps the nature of space as being different from other things, thereby excluding other distinctions. For those who want to understand only the nature of space and exclude other distinctions, one says "the nature of space." In this way, after obtaining the opportunity to explain its nature, seizing the loophole to argue is "from all." It is said thus: By cutting off doubts, even if it transforms into a thing with a different object, it is only through the way of cutting off that its nature is recognized. Therefore, if words also express things by way of cutting off, just like saying "this is not blue," then one must grasp it by understanding the way it is different from all partless things, just like the eyes and so on. Therefore, since it only becomes the object to be proven, the words and valid cognitions that rely on the exclusion of others, the other ways of entering will be lost. Therefore, if it becomes the object of things, then it must express being different from all, which is impossible. Precisely because of this, with the intention of expressing the reason, one distinguishes one's own nature by way of being different from all. Because it is different from all, it is impossible to express one's own nature; if one expresses it, one would fall into expressing it as being such a thing. Therefore, since one's own nature is suitable for being the fruit of knowledge, it is not the act of distinguishing. In order to refute this.
