For such things, it is not just unreasonable. If sounds correspond to things as they are, then for different things, they will be distinguished in that way. If sounds correspond to things as they are, then it is also not suitable for universals and so on. If things correspond to themselves, then it would be too similar to their direct perception, because there are no universals and so on established by illusion, this will also be explained. Therefore, in order to refute the non-difference between dharma and dharmins, and to prove that the sixth case and so on are unreasonable, those who want to express that, because it is dependent on others, it is excluded. Now, explaining that this reason is uncertain is: if sounds correspond to things as they are, then the sixth case and different words and so on would become proofs of difference. If one does not want this at all, then it is simply not a proof. It is also impossible to make such a commitment, so it is said. In any case, if things are different, because they are different, the difference in the use of sounds is solely caused by things, then for those who think so, what is the reason for distinguishing 'the queens' or not distinguishing 'six villages'? This is what is being said: the difference in the use of sounds is caused by things, and for 'the queens' and 'six villages,' one must say that the thesis is established on whether things are different or not. Like this, even for one woman, it is indicated by the plural word 'the queens.' Therefore, if difference is not proven for one woman, then this difference in the use of sounds, caused by different things, is unreasonable. Similarly, how can there be no non-difference when 'six villages' is used to refer to six cities with a singular word ending? Here, it is not exhaustion, but what is the reason for distinguishing 'the nature of the sky' or not distinguishing 'just the sky'? If 'the nature of the sky' indicates a nature different from the sky with the sixth case, then what is the reason for that difference which is indicated by the sixth case in this way? When that nature is also indicated as 'just the sky,' the sky becomes the cause for the use of sounds.
