If asked: Welcoming this question and saying, it means that those who are certain are not like that. Discrimination is not grasping or not grasping by the power of appearance. Here, the existence of appearance is not prevented, just as before, direct perception does not determine anything, just like that, the determination itself is prevented. However, here, it is the self-nature of grasping that is prevented. Therefore, it is said that even if there is appearance, this grasping and not grasping is not self-nature. Explaining the reason: The so-called "any determination". Like the appearance of a vase etc. seen by direct perception, the appearance of a wide belly etc., that appearance of a vase, in indistinct discrimination, is different because it contradicts that object, so it is an appearance. The appearance of a moment etc. is also the same. Therefore, if this is grasped by appearance, a moment etc. should also be grasped, but it is not like that. Because the nature of a vase etc., although some are determined, the nature of a moment etc., for others who are not determined, enter, so they are separate. How the nature is determined, the knower enters how, how it is not determined, it does not enter how. Thus, the seeker of the meaning of pouring water, enters into the vase, thus determined, but not into impermanence. If asked: Is discrimination also the same as direct perception, even if it is not determined, does it grasp such an appearance? Answer: It is not like that. Because directly grasping itself by separate appearances is not established. Like direct perception, focusing on things by appearance itself is not established. When relying on the determination itself, and establishing grasping on something, only the way of determination is reasonable. Determination is also not the nature of experience, but the Dharma of experience, it will be shown like this. Therefore, it is a concluding word, in order to determine: determination itself is the grasper, it exists, but appearance is not. If it is not admitted like this, then directly grasping itself is impossible, then, the ultimate of the discriminating consciousness is

Therefore, there will be no clinging to anything. If this is due to the control of clinging and tends to external objects, then since it does not exist in the external, ultimately there is no object at all. For the nature of realization, it is said to be focused on meaning. The explanation for this is "if it is not so." This means that just as one is deluded by the object of appearance and cannot be certain, it is also the case if another valid cognition is introduced from the object of conceptualization. By refuting with "How does the certain negate the uncertain," etc., it is shown that appearance also has the nature of certainty, and it is refuted by reversing from equality. Now, although appearance is not the nature of certainty, even so, from an object cognized by one consciousness, other subsequent consciousnesses naturally arise, just like the object cognized by inference. Therefore, if appearance also takes the object with the nature of establishment, then since certainty can be generated in all aspects, there is no room for introducing other valid cognitions. If there is an objection to this, then conceptualization will also change, which is to refute the opponent by showing equality in other ways. Even if a true experience of the nature of things that are different from everything arises, why wouldn't certainty arise just as it arises from things that are different from all experiences? A thing is different from another thing because it has a nature that is different from other things. If it is not so, then things without nature cannot be different. Therefore, this pot is different from things that are not pots because it has a special shape. Since it is proven by the action of cause, it is different from the unmade, and having the nature of destruction is different from the indestructible. Therefore, why rely on other valid cognitions when uncertainty arises only on such a nature? If certainty can be achieved merely through experience, then who would argue in this way? This is what is said as "memory." This is proven by merely the aspect of experience, because other reasons
