Moreover, when fabricated knowledge and the realization of the realm of mind, etc., enter into fabrication, they are similarly capable there. As long as these arise, knowledge that shares the same cause with them and contradicts them will not enter. Similarly, when there is knowledge that something is silver, the knowledge of wiping will not enter. This is also refuted with three words, followed by a statement, and the realm of merely eliminating, answered in one sentence. In the commentary, it is stated that form, etc., are to be refuted, so it is presented as a question to be stated. By saying "after seeing form, etc.," it explains "seeing." The term "non-characteristic definitive knowledge" refers to things with a general meaning. Therefore, since there is nothing to be distinguished, saying "how can it be an object of distinction" refers to that. The answer to that is "unfabricated." Because it exists in the realm of the unfabricated. It is not the case that only realization is related to the object of distinction. When abiding in the object of distinction itself, from what is suitable for fabrication, that which is unfabricated is what should be distinguished. Therefore, the reason for the object of distinction itself is explained without mentioning the realm of merely eliminating. This is what is being said: If it were to change while there is fabrication, then it would not become an object of distinction, because it would not change into something that does not exist. Therefore, it is very clearly realized that it has the result of refuting. Entering definitively into what does not exist is because it is realized to be contrary to it, so it is to determine the refutation of it. How is it realized that this exists in the realm of the unfabricated? It is said, "For what." For whatever dharma of a thing that has fabrication, it will become uncertain. How will it not become uncertain? It is said, "certainty and" etc. For what reason? "Certainty and fabricated mind, are the nature of what is harmed and what harms." Fabrication is an obstacle to the arising of certainty, and the certainty arising from a powerful cause devours fabrication.

Therefore, this itself is the nature of the harmer and the harmed. If it is established that consciousness can be reversed by just a moment, then what else can reverse the consciousness that arises from it, which is the nature of the suppressor and the suppressed, and which is the basis for imputation and determination? It is said that because of clinging to its own object as true, even if it is just a moment, all conceptual consciousness will become permanent. Even if the mind is interrupted by distraction, similarly, if there is effort because of determining it as true, it will act in just that way. When one thinks that a whisk is silver, before the harm arises, because of clinging to other things, although one does not differentiate in between, when it appears again, one will recognize it as such. Therefore, any consciousness that can recognize its object and then recognize it as untrue, that itself is what can reverse it. Therefore, when one recognizes "This is a whisk, not silver," the recognition of silver is reversed, but merely recognizing the whisk is not enough, because when one recognizes other things, even if one does not tend towards it, it will arise later. If one recognizes "This is a whisk, not silver," then it will not be like that. If, because one recognizes the whisk in its own object, that recognition is reversed, then, because it has not arisen, it is not reversed. This has already been said. If what has not arisen also clings to appearing as true, it will arise again. Or, here it will become having silver, because it will become having itself. Therefore, whatever can discern its object, that itself is what can reverse it. Therefore, only discrimination can reverse imputation, not the absence of discrimination. There, from the presence and absence of its reasons, the resulting consciousness is merely presence and absence. The consciousness of imputation, as long as it appears as true to its own object and fabricates it, will hinder the arising of reversing consciousness. The commentary is "From all things" and so on. Because there is imputation of a whisk, there is no certainty that it is the whisk itself, and there is no imputation.
