If not, then the nature of being made is indeed existent. Therefore, the immediate arising of a cause is indeed the nature of being made, but since the pot does not possess the nature of being apprehended by hearing, for example, it is not the very nature of sound. Similarly, if the pot, like sound, were to perish immediately upon arising, then being made would be confused with impermanence. For example, when there is doubt about whether sound or a pot is permanent, it cannot be demonstrated from impermanence itself. Therefore, just as it is not possible to say that since a pot is made and sound is also made, therefore it is not the nature of being made, so too, the nature of being made is the very embodiment of impermanence. Because if it exists, impermanence itself will not be non-existent, therefore, the self-nature of the dharma, which is the same, is established as being close. For objects that are not different, just as sound is made even though the pot is empty, so too, it may become empty due to impermanence, therefore, from the nature of being made, it becomes impermanent. Now, if the dharmas are not different, how should it be said? How can one speak of it? Is it not also that the dharmas are not different, just as the dharma is? In this way, when discriminating between delusion and non-delusion, there is no doubt that the nature of being made, and so forth, should be revealed. If it is not so, then what will become delusion and non-delusion due to being present or absent in something else? If the two natures that have been definitely examined are such that, just as they exist in one thing, they also exist in another, then it is not non-delusion. However, if one exists and the other does not, then one does not delude the other. Therefore, what is called being made is the nature of being related to a cause, because it is not the nature of being apprehended by the ear, and so forth, so even if it is not sound, a pot, or if it is not a pot, sound will become made, but this does not transcend impermanence itself. The nature of being made is the dharma of things, called being made by causes, and since the causes are also producers with the nature of decay, for a producer with the nature of decay, the nature of being made that is produced cannot but be of the nature of decay. Therefore, whatever this becomes one with, it will become of the nature of decay, just like being made. Similarly, the very nature of a tree also has the distinctive nature of being endowed with leaves and so forth.

Because it is so, it is the nature of the tree itself, but the tree itself is not the nature of the leaves. If it is not a single tree, then whatever is a tree has the nature of leaves, then what other tree itself is not the nature of leaves? In terms of its own nature, some things that have the nature of trees, etc., are not the nature of other things, and some are not the nature of other things, because there is no difference in dharma among them. If that is the case, even if everything is of one nature, its nature will be confused because it is completely abandoned, so the leaves will also become the nature of the tree. If it is said that things do not have the dharma that follows them, or that there is no difference in dharma, is that not correct? If there is a difference, it will become two trees. If there is no difference, it is also certain to its nature because it exists in other entities that do not have its nature. Existing in other things, the tree itself and the leaf itself are different. Therefore, just as a tree becomes a sandalwood tree, the leaves will also not be a tree. Here, the term "tree" refers to things that have leaves, etc., so this also applies to sandalwood trees. "Leaves" refers to the difference of leaves, etc., how can it not be a tree? Similarly, "what is done" refers to the dharma of things that have the nature of destruction, so how can it not be of the nature of destruction? It will also be shown that way. Length and the leaves themselves do not become each other's nature, therefore, it is reasonable to think that the connection between the nature of a certain thing and the nature of the dharma is reasonable, so as not to confuse what the nature of a certain thing is. And how can one know that it is the nature of something? This will be explained later. If it is understood as the nature of one thing, then at that time, what is to be established will become what is to be established, because the nature of the leaves is the tree itself, and similarly, what is done is the nature of impermanence, which is unreasonable, because what is to be established and what is to be established contradict each other.
