དུ་དེ་དང་རིགས་མི་མཐུན་པའི་དངོས་པོ་ཡང་དངོས་པོ་གཞན་ལ་ཡོད་པ་འགྲུབ་པ་དང་འབྲེལ་པ་ནི་མ་ཡིན་ནོ། །དེས་ན་དུ་བའི་རང་གི་ངོ་བོ་གཅིག་ལས་ཐོབ་པར་རྟོགས་པ་ན། རིགས་པས་དངོས་པོ་གཞན་ལས་སྲིད་པ་མ་ཡིན་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཅི་སྟེ་མཐོང་བ་ཡིན་ན་དེས་དེ་དུ་བ་ལས་གཞན་ཉིད་ཡིན་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །རིགས་པ་ནི་སྐྱེ་བའི་རང་བཞིན་དཔྱད་པ་ཉིད་དུ་བསྟན་ཟིན་ཏོ། །རིགས་པ་གཞན་ཡང་བཤད་པ་ནི་དུ་བ་ནི་དེས་བསྐྱེད་པའི་ཞེས་བྱ་བའོ། །དུ་བ་ནི་མེ་དེས་བསྐྱེད་པ་དེ་ཡོད་ན་འབྱུང་བའི་རང་བཞིན་གྱི་ཁྱད་པར་ཡིན་ནོ། As it is said, the produced and the producer of things, as well as the capacity and arising, are of the nature of following and opposing. Following and opposing are also not transformed from the self-nature of an object into another object; therefore, saying "if there is fire, there is smoke" means that if there is the self-nature of the form of fire, there is the self-nature of the form of smoke. Therefore, what is called "producing smoke" is the follower of smoke's following and opposing, and what is called "smoke produced by fire" is also only its follower. These are also their respective self-natures, therefore the form of smoke is what is produced by fire, and the form of fire is also the producer of smoke, which is fire.
