Because the clarity of being in a situation does not exist, and what was previously produced has also vanished, neither the situation itself nor the measurer itself can be established. Without seeing its own nature, nothing is the object of the viewer. Feeling is also not different from seeing, because if it is separated from feeling, then the measurer has no measurer. Therefore, here it is said that memory arises from feeling, or that it is the creator of feeling, then from where feeling exists, such an establishment is also the same, because the momentary aspect also enters in a constant way, so it can be established. Therefore, it is not that feeling depends on memory, nor that memory depends on feeling, and because there is no other consciousness that depends on both, it also cannot be established as holding the nature of cause and effect. If memory is indeed considered to be the object of things, even so, if this experience is clear, or even if it is a part of its branch, in any case, that memory itself will disappear. Therefore, it should be said that the memory of things or feelings is hidden. Therefore, like direct perception, by knowing the consciousness of memory in this way, it cannot be established as such a thing, if it is not so, then all knowledge says that there is an object of things, then there is no need to look for the relationship with inference and so on. Therefore, even if memory is the object of things, but since it has been established that it arises like feeling, it is indeed the object of things, but it is not like direct perception, the knowledge itself becomes the combiner. Arising like feeling is also not established here, therefore, for this, the departed Sugatas consider impermanence, and others similar to this, to be the object of refutation and investigation. If the viewer has not disappeared, then what was seen before can be recalled, is this not reasonable? Even if it has not disappeared, if there is no creator that arises like seeing, then subsequent connection is also unreasonable, therefore not disappearing is not a limb. If there is a creator, then even if it disappears, there is no fault. The creator exists like feeling, but such a self cannot be established, this has been determined. The transformation from the consciousness of memory into such a thing is also excluded.

Concluding remarks. If what is seen has not disappeared, then memory can do nothing, and not disappearing is also established through continuous following. Therefore, here is what is to be said: In some cases, through following and reversing, the objects of cause and effect can be established. For example, smoke, sprouts, and rice grains, etc. In some cases, even if it is not established in that way, it is established in that way through reasoning, such as things that act together, like distinctions and objects. Therefore, this realization of a different result infers its own special cause, not just the ability of the cause. In this way, even if memory becomes confused, it infers the experience that is determined as that kind of nature. Even if the confusion itself has no difference, in some individually determined cases, an unprecedented realization arises, while in others, it is not even what was previously experienced. Because there is no object, confusion does not establish the object, but because it is impossible without a cause, determining the cause is only to make it manifest. Therefore, if there is no special cause, how can confusion become different? Similarly, for some, the knowledge of blue is certain, while for others, one should infer what is called the knowledge of yellow, etc. Therefore, when the action of memory arises from such an experience, it is like that. Even so, if only the cause is realized and not the difference, it is not so because the connection with the special expression is seen. In this way, if the connection between them is not experienced, then it is not reasonable to realize fire from smoke. Therefore, at the time of inference, only smoke is seen, and the experience of the connection with fire is not there. Therefore, from the basis of what was previously experienced, memory realizes the experience, thereby performing the activity of experience. If fire is not experienced in smoke, then when it is remembered in that way, if fire is inferred and entered, fire will not be obtained. Therefore, the experience that exists as it is through memory is to be observed because of the cause of inference itself, and things are obtained as they are. Indeed, experience is what needs to be observed.
