The non-mistakenness of this nature of the effect is realized only through the direct perception and non-apprehension that grasp it as such. If it is said that the effect does not mistake the cause, then this non-mistakenness is the object of concomitance and contraposition. By what other means of valid cognition that does not realize the seen and unseen is it established? If the non-mistakenness of the effect with respect to the cause is not realized, then it is not proper to establish it as such, and without valid cognition, there is no realization. There is no other way to show valid cognition there except how it is shown. Therefore, there is no object or subject of perception. Furthermore, by what means is it shown to others that the effect does not mistake the cause, since the means of realizing the nature of ornamentation is blocked? If it is said that the seen and unseen are not the basis of concomitance and contraposition, then how is it established that smoke does not mistake fire? To refute this, the teacher said that if one realizes it, then one should realize non-mistakenness from its own nature, not relying on valid cognition. Thinking thus, he shows the very effect of the nature realized by valid cognition, and shows it as follows: The effect of fire is smoke, because it follows the dharma of the effect, because it follows the very nature of the effect of fire. Which dharma of the effect does it follow? If one looks at this, then one realizes only that the dharma of the effect of whatever is the effect follows. Whatever is the nature of the effect, it exists in smoke in relation to fire. Therefore, smoke is the effect of fire. Because such a nature cannot be established without valid cognition, the valid cognition that shows the relationship is implicitly stated only by establishing the nature of that. What is the dharma of the effect? It is not acting as the nature of the effect, because that is not possible for something without essence. If it is said to be the nature of a lump of clay, etc., then how is that a nature, and how is it an object of action? As such, it is not an effect, and as it is an effect, it is not a nature or an object of action. Therefore, it does not act as an effect. That which is not connected with action is an effect.

It will not become an object of existence, and even if it is not the author, it will not be related to other things. Therefore, it will become saying that the result is the author, so that actions can be accomplished on the result and the cause. The cause is not the result. If there is no connection, then there is no object and no object-holder. Because it is a collection of things or encounters of cause and effect, just related to it, the authors are the authors, is the result also the author? Or, because it is not the object of the author, the cause is not the author of the result. If it is said that because it arises from the author himself, the author acts on it. If it is a embodied being that is not touched by the author, if there is an author, it will inevitably arise, so saying that it arises from it will become saying that if there is a cause, it will arise. If it touches, what kind of connection is the touch? Because the author is also like that, it is impossible for the result not to be the author. Therefore, it is only the action itself, not the result. Therefore, if you carefully observe the parts of complete understanding, follow the actions and authors, etc., and be deceived by the sound of the cause being able to produce the result, it is because you have not fully understood the nature of things, and it will become a serious fall. Action is also not the result, but is related to the cause, because it is impermanent. If it is not the object of action, it is also not the result, so what was said earlier is endless. Therefore, the nature of the result is that which did not exist before, but later has its own nature. That does not exist in the nature that is constantly established. Because it is eternally existent. It is also non-existent in constant non-existence. Because it is of one taste in the non-existence of things. Therefore, because there is no self-nature, it is said that what did not exist before, but later exists, arises from there. In the manner that will be explained, this does not conform to having no cause, therefore it should be considered that things are the nature of arising from things with ability. Therefore, because there is a thing with the nature of ability, it is also a result that did not exist before, therefore it is a thing of cause and effect. Therefore, ability is also not to be understood through understanding in meaning, etc.
