That which is called "La," how can a realm that does not actually appear become a realm of appearance for others? The assertion that "establishing otherness from one's own nature" is entirely unreasonable. That itself is one's own nature. Because of being established, it is because of clinging. If one's own nature does not appear, then clinging arises, and if clinging itself does not appear, clinging also arises. Because of being inconsistent, it is the same in all cases. Because the appearance of one's own nature is certain, "inconsistency" is the meaning of clinging. If, starting from "if examined" up to "it is not," because color and impermanence, etc., are common characteristics, it is related to doubt about non-existent things, in order to generate certainty and cling to it. As for "regarding that," because of non-appearance, it is because of non-manifestation. "Even if not actually related" is also for that which does not actually appear. If it does not actually appear, but because of "only one's own nature" it becomes an object, and not another, then would it also be the same for the conceptualizations of Ishvara (自在天) and others? When thinking about this, "how do things change?" means that conceptualization arising from a sign is related to the cause and pervasive factors of the sign, so although it manifests the related one, because of clinging to it, it is the holder of that object, and not another. Because it is unrelated to that, it is not reasonable to establish it as that object itself. "What thing" refers to something that exists, and not something else. "How does it change" refers to existing with the nature of not-fire, not-wood, etc., and not existing with existence, etc. "Like that" refers to having an entity that is different from not-smoke, not-firewood, etc., and not being produced from grass, etc. A sign is also a result or a pervaded, and its cause, which is the reason for connecting, is through the cause itself or the pervader itself. "Of the mind" means that because it is not understood, it is not a sign, but it stabilizes the lineage. Even so, it is acting as a cause, therefore the sign is a result. For the mind...

Saying "sunlight is also pervasive" refers to the kind. If it is slightly pervasive, then what will it become? What is shown is that, because it is so, what it produces is the mind of the characterized that is born from the sign. For how things become particles, whether for the object or for the reason, that is, through the sign, it arises from it, so it is considered that there is no other. Understanding the hidden from the constant appearance is definitely the object related to the object to be obtained itself. The infallible with connection, the nature of the infallible is the valid cognition itself. After explaining these meanings, in order to dispel the wrong discriminations of other debaters, the verse is also proclaimed: Thus, sign and characterized mind. Just like the knowledge of the characterized, the knowledge of the sign that is attached to it is also infallible because it is related to it. Because this can produce this, the knowledge of the sign is also attached to this. Because clinging in an undifferentiated way is not clinging to it, because it does not exist for direct perception. Direct perception itself is also not this, because it can generate clinging to the ungrasped continuum. If there is clinging and attainment etc. related to meaning, even if it is valid cognition, how can it be confused? Because it is contradictory. If someone says this, then, because in its own nature it clings to its characterized, there is the confusion as mentioned before for the knowledge of the sign and the characterized. Its own nature is empty of them. It says that it is separated from directly perceiving them, this is the statement of reason. Directly perceiving one's own nature is not confused. The commentator says that the knowledge of the sign, which does not distinguish between having and not having the sign, is the inference following nature, and the knowledge of the characterized is the inference following the result. Starting from smoke etc., up to being mainly like this, just like the knowledge of the characterized, the knowledge of the sign is also the object of the sign, and the function of the sign of the definite nature that does not arise without the characterized is the sign
