The saying "if there is fire, then there is" is meant to express "suchness," just as not being able to burn means it is not fire. And "that also" means that the very nature of non-apprehension does not exist. And "that nature" means that through non-apprehension, the non-existence of others is proven. And "unproven" means that knowledge cannot be obtained from non-existence. And "what is to be established and what establishes" means that the non-apprehension and non-existence should be distinguished, and it should be connected to "whatever is said." "Unproven" means by the nature of what is to be established and what establishes. For existing things, such as those with branches, isn't the term "tree" used to refer to them, arising only from seeing? It is not so for non-existent things, because what is not observed is not recognized, and also because things that do not appear also exist. Even if it is different only because it is possible to appear, that itself is non-apprehension, and it should be said that it needs to be distinguished. If one thinks like this, then it is "if appearance is not seen." Non-apprehension is also distinguished by "being able to appear," and not just by non-apprehension itself. Therefore, "like the non-apprehension of not seeing appearance" is a distinction. If it is said that whatever non-apprehension is pervaded by such uncertainty is also non-existent, then whatever exists exists, because it is impossible for it not to be so. For possibility itself, just like for what is seen, it does not depend on it, and also for what is seen, it is not non-dual, because it exists through distinguishing self and other. If it is established, just like what is seen, or just like the tree itself, it is not recognized only because the possible appearance is not seen, and not just because of non-apprehension, because it is not an object, just like the trunk of a tree. Not recognizing the possible appearance is the cause, isn't it uncertain for the result? Because the result is also certain, it is pervaded by its own nature, because it arises only from that. Smoke does not arise only from fire, and fire does not exist only because there is smoke, it is also the cause, because it is like that, so it is not its own nature. If you ask how the result becomes its control, then what arises only from that is not its control.

Therefore, because it is unspeakable, and merely arises from desire, it does not actually change like a cow, and the fruit will inevitably arise, which is also the self-nature of the cause. Because it is the fruit, it is also the essence, because the cause itself pervades everything, so it can accomplish. This is the content of the commentary. Others say that here is the possibility of knowledge and speech. To this, the possibility itself is possessing this possibility, if it exists, then it is only existence, not other. This is what is seen. At that time, because there is no understanding of non-existence, there will be no hesitation, but the pervader of existence. This is its meaning. Regarding the word "accomplishment," if it is said that there is also in establishing terminology, then this is the former view. Merely by this reason, this is the view of the previous scholars. Having mind, this is one's own view. In order to show that it is seen in this way, it means "things do not exist." Corresponding to that mind is corresponding to the knowledge of non-existence. To this, if because of its nature, etc., the awakened habit is experienced, if it is not remembered, will it show the terminology of objects, etc.? No, because it is not observed. Therefore, it shows that there is no establishment at all, which is the meaning of "even if the object exists." If it is not spoken afterwards, that is, if the terminology is not remembered, then it is established that "courage has no dust" because of the reason of not understanding, which is the same as the lump of mud. This only makes people remember the symbol, but it does not make it established. The summary is that this is the meaning of focusing on the state. Because it is not observed, it does not exist, this is because it follows the essence of what is to be established and what can be established, and because it exists, it is impermanent. If so, then for non-existence and not observing, when there is no distinction or it is considered as terminology, how can it be seen? Seeing and seeing, etc., are the essence of fruit and cause, after understanding the essence of what is to be established and what can be established, just as the object of its terminology itself is the object, for it, its object itself is also like that. Because it exists, it is not momentary, that is, non-existence is not momentary.
