Just like the shape of the ground, if one asserts it and adds "it is valid cognition," it is a refutation. The answer is "it is not," which means it is merely not. If it is said that from the appearance of external objects, the external object itself is the place of entry. To this, some think that it is only by seeking meaning itself that a person enters; others think that it is not delusion merely by those unreal things. If one thinks like this, then it is said, "If all knowledge" etc. How is it known to be an external appearance? If one says this, it means "knowledge is not." To say that all knowledge is external is not established, because dream knowledge has no external object. If one thinks that even in a dream, it is seen by relying on non-corresponding formations, names, etc., then it is said, "It is not formations either." Showing that contradiction is the object, it is said, "In that blue, etc." The blue, etc., in a dream are not real, because they are unobstructed and clear. Like the unobstructed intermediate state existence body, it is shown here that "it is that knowledge." The intermediate state existence is also like the mind of others, even if it is seen by the divine eye, it is not common. Showing that it is knowledge itself from the fact that the object to be grasped does not appear, it is said, "name, etc." Although it is always with an object, it is shown that it changes by the distinction between valid and invalid cognition, that is, "If it is like that." To this, what is called "that itself," is everything with an object, or without an object, what is it? It is only without an object, because the object to be grasped does not appear. Showing that, it is said, "Having an object itself is not established." "Wherever" means even in the waking state. "Then" means speaking after admitting. "Blue, etc., itself" means the real blue, etc. "Because it is the opposite of that" means because it is unobstructed. "How is it known?" If one says this, it means, "Even so, the ground is very narrow." "Everything" means sleep itself. The complete ripening of inner imprints is also the cause of clinging.
