The term "ga" refers to temporarily considering direct perception and non-apprehension as the nature of direct perception. They do not combine their respective objects with the result and the other through their own action, because they are not the nature of combination. Similarly, the nature of inference is not to hold onto the connection with inference, as shown by "thus, of inference." The reason for saying "because it is merely the function of holding both" is because its nature is not combination. The "immediately" here refers to refuting the idea of conceptual thought arising from direct experience. For example, "Thus, whether it arises from this" and so on, is to distinguish association with others, non-association, and complete non-association in a sequential manner. The conceptual thought arising after direct perception only follows the part seen by direct perception, but does not pervade everything, as shown by "even now." The reason for saying "because there is no certainty" is because it does not pervade everything. Saying "it is also not definitely held to arise from this alone" shows the distinction of non-association, and also shows the distinction of complete non-association, that is, through "from this" and so on. The idea of conceptual thought arising from non-apprehension says, "How would it be if it did not exist?" Non-apprehension is both other than direct perception and is also inference, to show this aspect, it is "if it becomes like that." "Not other" means not other, that is, both are direct perception, because what is seen by the other is non-apprehension. The so-called "what is said about direct perception" refers to saying the conceptual thought arising from direct perception. If it is said "if it is inference," that is merely a refutation, to show that if inference seeks the other, there is no end, that is, "inference will also become endless." The conceptual thought arising from direct perception determined by object and time does not obviously cling to the certainty of the object, etc., nor does it arise from non-existence, because the object, etc., has no certainty, so thinking thus, it says:

However, "non-existent object" means: Having grasped an existing object, even if one remembers discordant aspects, the mind's knowledge of non-existence arises independently of the senses. By such reasoning, the certainty of an object in relation to a definite object is shown by the measure of non-existent objects. If it exists, it is a sign of existence, and from that, knowing other signs to be its result, since it depends on grasping the connection, it is not subsequent inference, but since there is no harm, it is a valid measure. The measure called "analysis" is what establishes objects, times, etc., as definite. If one thinks in this way, it is what is to be understood by the measure of analysis. The "characteristic of certainty" means that if it exists, it is a sign of existence, and from the sign, the distinction of the sign-possessor is clear, which is understanding its result, which is definite understanding. Because smoke is not perceived as arising from fire itself in one instance, but not from others, by this reason that does not allow for others, it is certain for fire, so the knowledge of certainty is the meaning understood from the meaning. In that existence itself, the determinant belonging to the category of existence is a sign, but that alone is not sufficient, because it would be confused. If it is established, then the other is not a sign-possessor, and the other measure, analysis, or understanding from meaning is also not, what is shown is: If the cause and effect of... "Arising from that" means belonging to the category of determinant only from that. The fault of that means that it is pervaded by certainty only from that. It is not direct perception, nor is it the conceptualization arising from that, because the object and time are definite. Even if it is ultimately not the result of others because it arises only from that, but if one thinks that it is the other, that also shows that the direct perception that does not combine with the object's certainty, etc., does not understand, the name of determinant is what is pervaded. However, if it exists, merely arising is a sign, and if it exists, only what exists is a sign-possessor, if one thinks in this way, it is if the certainty is analysis or... It is shown that the determinant of just that is not pervaded by direct perception, if now...
