Moreover, as stated in the scriptures, even if we assume that the Vedas, which serve as the basis for inference, are permanent, this is not the case for things as they appear. Shiva and others are the same as the Bhagavan, because they are rememberers, and what they say is also common to the authors, therefore inference becomes a valid means of cognition. Because there is contradiction, direct perception is not without reliance, because the Vedas contradict externalists and others who believe in permanence, everything is like movement and memory. If it is said that all this is not the consciousness of Brahma, because "similarity" and "proximity" are also not valid means of cognition due to contradiction, then this is saying that the permanent Vedas are not valid means of cognition. The answer is: A valid means of cognition, permanence does not exist. That is to say, momentary consciousness and so on are considered to be true, and the opposite understanding is contradictory, such as permanence and being created. Other valid means of cognition also do not exist, to illustrate this, it says: Because there is no valid means of cognition. This shows that there is no establisher. Doubt also does not exist, to show that this is harmful, it says: Furthermore, things exist. These are the words spoken by the other party, which will be explained by "desire to enter" and so on as not being establishers, because consciousness itself is a valid means of cognition, because it is the nature of correctly knowing things. It has been established that the deceptive leader is non-deceptive consciousness, and this is also conventional truth. The knowable objects such as the body and the earth are held, therefore abiding in this, following its own nature, following its existence and non-existence, existence and non-existence are also impermanent. Similarly, Ishvara and others are also unstable because the knowable objects are impermanent. That is to say, if the knowable objects are impermanent, then consciousness is also impermanent, how is this known? This is established by a preceding question. How is it known that the consciousness of us and others also follows the existence and non-existence of the knowable objects?

That is neither born from the knowable nor is it the nature of the knowable. What is it then? It is thought to be only grasping from the action of the knowable, which is "If the knowable is impermanent." For what reason is it not the nature of the knowable? It shows that being born is like coming from another, and is also the agent of action, which is "acting on the nature of the knowable." To this it is said "if," because if there is no knowable, consciousness has no action. Even if there is, if it is its essence, how can it be the holder? Therefore, if one is not an agent of action when separated from the knowable, then is the one who acts at the time of the knowable another? Is consciousness not without beginning and difference? If it is thought that, like a mirror, if consciousness is close to it, it can hold the image, and the existence of the image and another moment are not its differences, this is "However, that is the mirror." If this is the case, then the consciousness that pervades everything, because it is close to all knowables, will become omniscient. If it is thought that even if it pervades everything, it is dependent on the collection of eyes and so on, because that is the determination of the object, so it is holding the determination. The first is not a determination, because it does not become a determination from being close, because it is constant. It is reasonable that the other arises from it, therefore it is said "then it is one's own collection," from one's own collection, that is, from the eyes and so on, like this, the nature of consciousness, with following and reversing, is known from the power of the eyes and so on themselves. If it is thought that, just as the action of the eye does not exist, but knowing the meaning is dependent on it, so is consciousness, this is "However, the eye opens without moving." Consciousness itself, although it has no other action, is known to have the power of following and so on. No, because there is no reversal for it. If it is said that following exists, no, if it does not exist, even if there is another, it will not arise, if it cannot be established, then the power of following it cannot be known, this is the answer "following and reversing."
