For "that is not," because it is not known to have come down through transmission, it is not manifest in reason. Meaningless refers to the sequence of lacking essence, and abandonment is forsaking. It shows the opposite for the great meaning. Whatever those are, they are related to "that is not." This also shows the refutation of arising from hair. For the knowledge of ears, etc., dissimilar knowledge is not non-deceptive, so in order to eliminate the fault of non-pervasiveness, the activities of the debaters, etc., must be combined to be of the same meaning. The so-called "own nature from oneself" refers to the fact that only the own nature of knowledge is realized from oneself, because it is not valid cognition. Therefore, through the occasion, one wants to establish valid cognition from others. Conversely, it is explained in order to know valid cognition from oneself. Mentioning "transformation" is because one wants to express the statements of scriptures such as "untransformed," wanting to express the reason for the fruit of establishing the Blessed One, but in a non-occasional situation, wanting to enter into explaining the phonetics of the transformation of the verse. If one enters into meaningless statements for the great meaning, then there is no fault of saying so in one's own treatise, therefore it is shown in this way. The so-called "loss of taste" means to represent without all the faults of saying so. The so-called "extreme" also means that respect for other sequences is a supreme result. The so-called "endowed with a share," etc., refers to the words that dominate it. Being endowed with a share itself is the perfect wisdom born of nature. The so-called "seen" means having arisen from manifest cultivation, or being endowed with a share itself is a perfect lineage. The so-called "seen wisdom" refers to being combined with the supreme wisdom of nature or cultivation. Alternatively, the former is a supreme lineage, and the latter is a supreme cultivation. A perfect companion and a perfect lineage are also acceptable. A perfect intention and a perfect cultivation are also acceptable, to be combined in order. Here, one wants or speaks of the difference of such an aspect.

It is done for the purpose of abandoning faults. Very pure means that because all the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge, together with their predispositions, have been abandoned, therefore the stainless wisdom, the nature of comprehending the non-duality of all-knowing wisdom, is the wisdom of the Tathagata, which accomplishes the nature of the fruit, with the wisdom of the nature of rational thinking. True means that all the faults mentioned earlier have been completely abandoned. It is explained as having the characteristic of being good at distinguishing. Because it is the meaning of having characteristics, it shows that it completely includes all the qualities, but it does not merely accomplish the teachings such as explanations, so that is nothing, meaning that what is done later will not decline. The wish of the fortunate one who composed the Pramāṇavārttika is to avoid falling into any extremely profound place. It is said that because he saw that even the disciples with special wisdom could not grasp it, so because of displeasure, he created "not those who are not small in intellectual ability" and so on. Moreover, because he is still explaining to those who have not found anyone better than himself, so avoiding falling into it is to show the meaning of the time of speaking, etc., because those with qualities have not seen it, so there is no displeasure, so this is a combination of two negations. Why? Because, through explaining this Pramāṇavārttika in a way that abandons all faults, by completely clarifying the non-erroneous valid cognition, I have done what makes those with good wisdom able to understand, this is stating the proximate cause. Or, because it shows that it is impossible for oneself or the object to have faults, so for the Pramāṇavārttika and its explanation, they also become valid cognition in order, etc., with two verses as the branch for those with clear understanding to enter. Among them, by "becoming valid cognition" it is explained that it is impossible for the object, that is, the Pramāṇavārttika, to have faults. The so-called bad discrimination is oneself. Therefore, it shows that it is impossible for the object of its explanation to have faults, and it does not exist in oneself, this is "mostly".
