It is because of relying on others. Above, it was also said that the object of non-deception and deception, etc., is controlled by others, which shows that there is also a fault in that point, which is the meaning. If so, then this difference was not fully grasped before. What was grasped then? It is the universal. Is it the current commitment? Yes, that is the common universal that distinguishes the appearance of each individual knowledge, such as appearing to have branches, etc. in the distance. That is, "The sign is in the realm of the universal, Previously said not to be in a different place, therefore." And it is also said, "From seeing similar forms." Where is it recognized that it is not dependent on others? Only in the moment of consciousness, etc. For that point, the direct perception itself is the valid cognition, following the seed of ignorance of beginningless times, etc., the namer sees the object and enters the object-possessor, just like entering into what is said to be the producer itself, therefore it is not establishing what was not there before. For this, in the Pramāṇaviniścaya, it is also said "From other experienced objects", meaning that from those things that recognize objects without relying on others. The object is also its own nature. That is, "The nature of the object is one," etc., and it should be known that this meaning is not independent, meaning that this is the meaning here, that is, the unique, the nature of the object that does not depend on others, that is, what belongs to the category of one's own nature is direct perception, if the extremely clear nature is recognized as momentary, etc., then, the other, that is, there is no reason for not recognizing other natures, because it is necessary to look for other characteristics that can be known. If so, then who would look for other valid cognitions? Showing from the opposite side, if this is not done, then it is the reason for confusion, such as from seeing mountains, etc. without fire, etc., or seeing only trees in the distance without the difference of tree dhava, etc., or seeing the former without association with the latter, other than that it will not harm.

If one fabricates in a reversed manner, then in order to accomplish the desired distinction, one seeks other valid cognitions. This is its meaning. Wherever one does not rely on others, it is also because one is deceived by the manifest desire arising from beginningless reversed habitual tendencies, so one does not differentiate differences, but rather engages in conventional terms. The explanation of this is: Therefore, by seeing objects, one sees different qualities. Because of delusion, one cannot ascertain, so one engages greatly in argumentation. This is what is said. Therefore, that which is related to the latter is not the self-nature of the former, and because it is not in accordance with itself, it depends on being cognized. However, since it does not exist, one might think, how then can one distinguish between valid cognition and non-valid cognition? In response to this, it is said: From conventional terms comes valid cognition. This is what is said. Worldly conventional terms exist like samsara. Since the distinction between valid cognition and non-valid cognition also exists, it is said that it is accomplished from that. Direct perception and so on are not the basis of conventional terms, because what is accomplished by them is not cognized by valid cognition, so habitual tendencies themselves are the basis. This has already been explained, that it is established by the habitual tendencies of conceptual thought. Even though it arises from habitual tendencies, is the experience itself the former? Or does the latter mix or separate Ulekhati? In either case, it is because it is related to habitual tendencies and experience. The reason for being related to experience has already been explained. How does that which arises from habitual tendencies related to experience grasp experience? It does not arise from the habitual tendencies of conceptual thought, but from the power of grasping falsehood. Self-nature does not mix, they mix through cognition. This is what is explained. Like that, whether it is the former related to the latter, or separated from it, it is accomplished through the conceptual thought of conventional terms, but not through valid cognition. This is its meaning. Self-nature refers to knowledge, but not to valid cognition itself. From what reasoning is it known? At that time, the self-nature of valid cognition itself is stated.
