Since the conceptualizations with names of terms arising from beginningless habitual tendencies are primarily cognized by inference, they come from others and are not real, because they are not cognized by valid cognition such as direct perception. From this, how to establish that both are reasonable from what is seen as that very nature, it is said here: From oneself, one realizes one's own nature. This means that it is reasonable for the self-nature of knowledge to be established as valid cognition, because when recognizing otherness, such as recognizing blue, etc., one can reasonably recognize happiness, etc. Like happiness, the self-nature of knowledge itself is not the agent of blue, etc., because the external environment itself will not become the agent of it from where it exists. From where one recognizes something other than one's own nature, the applier of names is also included for the sake of the agent there. Because the agent that relies on it is different from the agent that can recognize, it is thought that there is no real existence of realization, just like the nature of the object of grasping blue that does not match happiness. Therefore, it is said: From oneself, one realizes one's own nature. Like happiness, blue is also only self-aware, because there is no difference. Because there is no mutual action, from self-awareness itself, there is no obstacle to the action of one's own continuum, just like happiness, for an irrelevant agent. What is known from? What the senses rely on is direct perception, which means that although the reliance itself has been established, the sound of direct perception shows the nature of what can appear, and what can appear itself is not hidden. In order to show that it is different from the true knowledge, and at different times, it is impossible for the external environment not to be hidden, it is said: Direct perception is the realization of appearance. Just like momentary knowledge, etc., the very connection with what is to be obtained is also the self-nature of knowledge, so how can it not appear? If you think so, what is to be obtained

It is said, "without taking hold." Just as a place, etc., is related to fire, so too, understanding is related to the object to be attained, but because it depends on another, it is not its own nature. That itself is not wisdom, and because it will not become wisdom, it is impossible for it to be a valid means of cognition, whether from itself or from another. It will be shown thus: When something exists at a certain time, it is certain that it exists at that time, but not at other times. Hidden things cannot be determined to exist, because the object to be attained that is about to arise is harmed, and its non-existence is also at that time, therefore, that which was previously without harm is a valid means of cognition with characteristics, and the other is not understood from itself either. Although that is so, it is said to be its own nature. Because if there is no grasping of the meaning of the object to be attained, then there will also be no grasping of the connection with it. Therefore, it is shown that for it, there is a connection with the object to be attained, and the object to be attained is also close to it. However, if the valid means of cognition itself is its own nature, then it will be said to be the nature of having a connection. Merely having a connection is a connection, which is not not a repetition. The answer is: That which is related to the nature of the object to be attained is the nature of wisdom. Whatever has a connection is that which has a connection, it is a thing approached by another, but it does not mean merely a thing. It is shown that if there is no other that is approached, then merely wisdom cannot obtain the distinction made by a valid means of cognition, that is, merely its own nature. That "it" is the valid means of cognition itself. If the object to be attained is not approached, then is the nature of wisdom also not reasonable? Because it will be said, "This is known by wisdom" or "This is known by wisdom," it is abiding in the knowable, so how is it that its own nature is a valid means of cognition, and how is it thought that its own nature is not a valid means of cognition? Therefore, it is said, "The nature of wisdom is not a valid means of cognition," wisdom is not itself, nor is it its own object, merely those are not sufficient, because merely those are present in everything, so there is no distinction between a valid means of cognition and a non-valid means of cognition. Because it is distinguished by the presence and absence of the object to be attained, therefore the connection with it is the valid means of cognition.
