The actions of those (observers) have no merit, and what is accomplished in other ways is following and returning, the explanation of which is: because there is no merit, it is not valid. (This sentence) is said as such. If the nature of cognition itself is the object, then because it is permanent, sleep, etc., will not return, therefore it will become conscious, the explanation of which is: if those cognitions are removed. (This sentence) is said as such. If it is not known that one is not deceiving oneself. From other knowledge, it is knowledge, the explanation of which is: if that non-deceptive knowledge. (This sentence) is said as such. The establishing knowledge is valid only from itself, is it not because the action of cognition is complete? Is not the doubt after that contradictory to it? Because successively holding the determined meaning is doubt. Thinking that it only returns from the knowledge of function, therefore the word "also" of the establishing knowledge is mentioned, the object here is doubt, and it is its nature, therefore it is the action of doubt, so it is doubt, if one definitely holds the meaning as function, then the uncertain nature is doubt, and it is not slightly established, this is the meaning to be expressed. The establishment of "harmless meaning" is also due to the intention of the teacher. Like other establishing reasons, the knowledge of function is also, because existence and non-existence are the same, like high and low, doubting whether it is a person, it is explained that it is only the nature of not holding determination. What is not established before the valid cognition? (This sentence) is said as such. Like the nature of cognition, the establishing knowledge, because there is no difference between existence and non-existence, it is not to establish the object, similarly, the knowledge of function is also, because the function and the other are common, this is the meaning to be expressed. That "is" word, because it is the commonality of validity, so it is the object of doubt. "From that" is to say, because it is commonality, so it is from the knowledge of the object function of doubt. "If the valid cognition is established before" and so on, like fire and smoke, are also the knowable and the known. Therefore, one becomes valid independently.

It is established, but not otherwise. From hidden places, etc., acting like a cow, this merely indicates being close to becoming a valid means of cognition, not for understanding, therefore thinking that it does not depend on grasping the relation, it is said: From acting, knowing, that is this sentence. To show that the common action of a valid means of cognition and another is not close to becoming a valid means of cognition, it is said: In that action, it appears, that is this sentence. Recognizing that it is not a valid means of cognition, even starting from the perception of touch. Acting only from a valid means of cognition, not from the perception of yellow, because how is it not seeing and encountering, thinking this, it is said: From that, acting is not, that is this sentence. Just as acting enters from a valid means of cognition, it also changes from a non-valid means of cognition, to show this, it is said: From others, how do you wish, that is this sentence. Also in other places, this means that there are some that do not encounter even in valid means of cognition. If one sees the nature of not appearing without previously existing, one will become accustomed, but not otherwise, it is said: From habit, the appearances are not the same, that is this sentence. Even if one does not see the nature of not appearing without previously existing from direct perception, it is said that one sees it from inference, it is said: At that time of seeing, that is this sentence. To show that if there is no direct perception, because there is no grasping of the relation, inference is also impossible, it is said: That inference also, that is this sentence. Or, there is no knowable other than consciousness, therefore, what establishes and what acts also belong to the category of consciousness, therefore the relation with it is blissful departure, thinking this. It is said: Own nature, object, own mark, aspect, that is this sentence. Merely the consciousness of one's own nature, from not being the consciousness of other and other, grasping the relation existing on those two is not, that is the meaning. Merely being unable to grasp the relation is not merely direct perception, to show that one cannot grasp its difference, it is said: Object and time, other, pervading, that is this sentence. Where it is the place of grasping the relation, there also one has not grasped pervasion, so it is not a valid means of cognition, where one does not grasp the relation, what need is there to say, this is his intention. Pervading
