Nor is it subsequent inference. Special experience is not contrary to reason either, because what it proves is understood to be examined by conceptualization. Usually reason is also not contrary to that experience, like the knowledge of silver is like the knowledge of fish bladder. Thus, since there is no harm to the first, it is reasonable for the latter to arise as well, therefore, for things that have the nature of both, through experience one understands impermanence, and through conceptualization one understands permanence, thus establishing two valid cognitions other than inference. Direct perception and having seen before are also like that. This will be explained: experience itself will become conceptualization, and later knowing that establishing memory is unreasonable, therefore one also recognizes the object that one is accustomed to, that is also a non-conceptual cognition that only holds the present, from that power another conceptualization arises, which is recognizing what one has seen before. If someone thinks that in all previous and subsequent knowledge, it is impossible to deny that recognizing the same basis is the same, if one thinks like that. If one says something called "being in the state of doing meaning", then through words such as "recognizing what one has seen before", one grasps the knowledge of having branches and so on. The answer is: what is to be said here is, for the time being, saying that experience itself is of the nature of certainty is unreasonable, because when seeing the conceptualization of a horse, one will also conceptualize that it is a horse from seeing a cow, and seeing and knowing will become without difference, and the difference is also established from knowing, and it is also understood through meaning. If it is established as seen, there is no harm, if seeing itself is sharp, because memory will arise, so there are two kinds of seeing, one is very dull like the touch of the sole of a walker's foot when one is not used to it, and the other is very sharp, the opposite of that. For that kind of thing, even if a memory with that characteristic arises, only the characteristic is not certain, because memory and the seeing and conventionalities of other things are different. However, for habit, because practice with father etc. is sharp, so at the first appearance it will

It is understood merely by seeing. Regarding this, the thought of "this is that" is mentioned, which arises from understanding upon seeing the father, etc., for the first time. Moreover, it is not necessary to specifically understand it, because, like the first time, merely being close allows one to understand that the father, etc., is the object of understanding. For the initial designations such as "so-and-so," the initial one does not rely on it, and the need for it does not rely on it either. Discrimination is the grasping of the object of the father, etc., who is near there, because it is the object of seeing what is near. Therefore, the meaning of "this is that" is that, regarding the understanding that this is the father, it also means "is." Or, the meaning of "this is that" is that it is similar to now. Is it because of the reason of similarity that the saying "this is that" arises? It is like saying "what is similar to a cow is not a cow." Indeed, for foolish people, "this is that" becomes similar to "what is similar is like that," like saying "what is like a cow is not a cow." For very similar things, "this is that" is like hair and nails, etc., that grow back even after being cut. Regarding this, seeing a round head in between is harmful to uniqueness. Regarding this, do the ultimate and grasping of what is seen before and after cause harm? Saying "no," it is actually the grasping itself that performs the subsequent proof. Similar knowledge is not produced merely by seeing, but arises in the mastery of learning. Why not grasp that mastery as being the same as that? In its own time, grasping itself is a visible phenomenon even for those who are accustomed to it, and it is also similar. In its own time, regarding things that are similar, how is seeing? Even if it is not like that, it is understood as similar, like blue. Actually, because it is not that object, even if one is accustomed to it a hundred times, one will not understand, and even if it is the habit of dissimilar characteristics and similar characteristics, one cannot say that it is similar to bad characteristics and dissimilar characteristics. Even if it is near, its uniqueness is not near, and it and the characteristics
