Where do actions and so on take place? Because the cognition of form cannot arise without a cause. The eye is the means of inferring it, which is reasonable, because the result does not confuse it. Non-things are not like that, because there is no valid cognition. What arises from the reason of uncertain knowledge is not like that either. When valid cognition arises, it is known that things exist, and when it disappears, is it not known that things do not exist? This negates it, because the existence of valid cognition does not necessarily mean that the object of valid cognition exists. When all valid cognition disappears, is it not known that it does not exist? However, the knowledge that arises, saying "where does it not exist?", that is the valid cognition of non-things. For sleep and so on, it does not exist, that is, it has been said that "it grasps non-things." There is no difference between it and sleep and so on. What should be negated is the abandonment of grasping onto memory and things other than things, because they are not its differences, because it has been shown that there is no self-nature, that is, "there is no kind of thing." The absence of self-nature itself is also collective, so it is their difference, in order to show those that accompany the disappearance of the valid cognition that generates understanding, that is, if it is called collective here, then the disappearance of the valid cognition that accompanies the grasping of other things such as objects, is the object corresponding to it, not the object of the end of the kalpa, that is what is to be shown. That is, grasping onto existing things, completely combining from memory, recognizing that it does not exist, arises independently of the sense faculties. The disappearance of such valid cognition is another knowledge, because the characteristics are not the same. The non-existence of its pot itself is also different from it, so it is neither valid cognition nor an object of valid cognition. This is what is to be shown, that is, "it is determined as a non-thing." Is the non-existence of the pot not in a place that is not the ground? That is because even if there is a pot, it exists. Uniqueness is also not different from the ground, so the existence different from it is not its own.

It is held by consciousness. The negation of consciousness is what is said by a consciousness that is distinct from other consciousnesses, which is called the consciousness of "this is not." The non-apprehension as a means of valid cognition is precisely the non-existence of the object to be measured, such as a pot, which is determined by each of their respective means of valid cognition. The first is from direct perception, and what follows is the pervasive non-apprehension. It is only through external objects that the negation of consciousness and objects of consciousness is determined, or it becomes a permanent consciousness, but there is nothing to be manifested with an object that is called non-existence. So what is it? It is to determine the negation of its means of valid cognition. The one that follows the action of direct perception, such as "this is blue," and inference, which are two kinds of conceptual thought, if they are valid cognitions that arise only from the habits of others, then for the time being, inference is not so, because one who has not seen non-existence does not grasp pervasion, because it is by direct perception that one grasps the pervasion of non-existence and existence, and the pervasion of those non-existences is also implicitly established. Therefore, even by the force of inference, the understanding of non-existence from non-apprehension is only those that are different from it, because those that are separate from it are seen, it is the non-existence of its own nature. Even if it is separate from it, because it is direct perception, it is not pervasive non-apprehension. If that is the case, then in the reasoning of debate, how can it be said that "those who see it are pervaded by the presence of consciousness"? In the determination of valid cognition, it is also said that the correct realization of "I have not seen this" will also arise. By the conceptual thoughts of seeing and not seeing, it is shown that direct perception is accompanied by action, but not by statements such as "because this exists, this does not exist." It is said: Showing that seeing is existence is showing that existence and seeing are the same. By the words of a competent person, "I see, I do not see," it is shown that even if it is only one's own seeing, or not, it is established from direct perception, and not by others.
