The action is nearly manifest. For self-awareness, time and the like are not uninterrupted. The object apprehended here is the same as that, because otherwise it cannot be realized by it. If that is the case, then what shows that this is established is: "The stains are adventitious." This means they are not intrinsic nature. Stains refer to clinging to self and so forth. Without a root means without an object. Because it is merely the scope of fools, it is merely the desire for manifestation without analysis, because if analyzed, it is merely self-awareness, therefore there is no fabrication. This is its meaning. In order to closely gather the refutation of arguments about "becoming a self also has faults" and so forth, therefore "therefore, also before" is mentioned. Before becoming a self, even in the state of seeing the other shore. On whatever path that is established, some faults are not inherent in it, because the very path by which excellence is obtained from it is harmful. To show this, "even if capable" is used. What is harmful is the path. Capability itself is power, that is, the formation of habit. This is its meaning. For the real existence of its essence, that is, for the mind, the capability is also merely produced. Forever refers to the power that grows continuously. It should be connected in this way. To refute the argument of "if faith," the verse "if that also" is explained. Just as the stains of clinging to self and so forth arise from habit and should be eliminated through effort, similarly, the path of becoming a self through habit should also be eliminated through effort, if it is said, then "harmless" means without fault. If faults are seen, a clear effort will arise, but that is also non-existent, therefore it is without cause. The two words "true meaning and intrinsic nature" indicate the cause for being unable to be clear and without effort. Inversion means through the inconsistent side, that is, through clinging to self and so forth. To show the target of seeing the opposing qualities as the cause for negating the effort itself for clarity, "its side" is used. Explaining it is: "Because of leaning to one side." The enemy with the nature of separation

Combining it with ignorance is called "nothing left of things." Even those who indulge in faults, if they do not need to strive because it is merely harmful, then what need is there to mention those who indulge in virtues? That is its meaning. Inner dharma, even if it is obstructed by contradictory anger like desire, is born again. Those who say that clinging is also internal mean that if desire and hatred are internal, even if they are not innate, it is nevertheless because they have a common cause. Clinging is the cause of these, and it is also the thing of cause and effect. Likewise, clinging and seeing selflessness as selfless are neither a single cause nor cause and effect. In order to show that neither inner nor outer distinguishes contradiction, "clinging has a common cause" is used. Just because desire and so on are the cause of clinging, it is not clinging and the contradictory seeing of selflessness as selfless, but it is shown that it is not love and so on that are not contradictory to this, that is the meaning of "therefore." Is not the universal notion of being attached to and angered by things ignorance? Someone thinks, since this can be reversed by love and so on, how is this not the path? "That also" means that the universal notion of being attached to things is merely clinging to the notion that it is beneficial to oneself. Therefore, clinging itself is ignorance, that is its meaning. Is not regarding dharma as ignorance? Someone thinks, how could this be the view of the perishable aggregate? "Afflicted" means that the cause of desire and hatred, ignorance, is temporary here. "Conditioned by ignorance, actions" says that ignorance is not merely ignorance without knowledge, someone says that the view of the perishable aggregate is not. "Of knowledge" means. Negation is like stating contradictions to untruth and unlawfulness and so on, therefore non-existence is not ignorance. The nature of not being separate contradicts the view of ignorance
