It means 'to say'. The word 'also' refers to things done by individuals. The word 'for this' is because the omniscient one is the root for subsequent inference. It means that only that which is naturally known in relation to meaning is so. This shows that for oneself, in relation to meaning, habit is not a harm. It is not for others either, because oneself alone does not exist. Furthermore, 'therefore, mind also' should be connected to 'therefore, clear'. It depends on the excellent clarity arising from the mastery of methods. To show why one strives to abandon it even if it exists, for the sake of increasing one's own benefit, it is stated: Whoever is engaged in the benefit of others will necessarily harm the benefit of others, therefore this must be abandoned. 'This difference is' refers to the fact that engaging in one's own benefit, such as Besru, is of a different nature. Suffering such as hunger is also of the nature of attachment arising from clinging to self and what belongs to self, and is only for those who possess habits, not merely for a collection of objects, otherwise it would lead to happiness of a single kind, etc. This shows that burning, heat, etc., are also like that. Similarly, accumulating merit by practicing virtue in form, which is contrary to food, either through remembering the life arising from a previous life, or because one enters due to being completely under the control of karma. To show that hunger, etc., are extremely unlikely, it is said, 'If one remembers the life.' 'Gods, etc., by nature' means obtaining the very god who practices virtue in form. Eyes, etc., are not produced merely from external causes like seeds and sprouts, etc. What then? They are produced from habit. To show that existence and non-existence are entirely dependent on the power of intention, it is said, 'Eating three times comes from habit.' 'Will disappear forever' refers to the temporary Bhagavan. Or, like external things, this which is produced merely from causes does not exist, to show that it is produced from the habit arising from intention, it is said, 'If this.' This is the benefit of others.

In order to enter into that (state), in order to show that it is only accustomed to be freed from the faults such as hunger, therefore it is said: Everything has the root of habit. This is its meaning. If it is thought that there is no reality of the instruction only because it contradicts the views of the previous teachers, then (it is said): If the teacher says that the combination is the one who indicates the means, and not the other. Because the other is not the habit of the means, so it is contradictory. It is said that this habit of means is indicated by the previous teachers by approximation. The indication is: Therefore, for that meaning, the means is habit. This is its meaning. This "this" is what must be determined by reversing from the order, or because it is only seeing my body and senses etc. as mine, or also because the three realms are the cause of abandoning the thought of suffering, it is to dispel the desire of others to think that this is a means. To think of it as mine, even if the body etc. is not seen, because it is thought of as mine, attachment arises, so the thought of suffering itself will not enter. Even if it enters occasionally, it is freed from attachment. If asked: How do you know that this is the habit of means? It is said "Therefore, for that meaning", saying that the indication is the fruit, is it not a means? The answer is: Therefore, for that meaning, it is because of the meaning of the indication, it is for the cause of the indication. Only from this is the habit of means, and not the other, because that is the cause of that. If asked: How do you know this? From the able one, that is, from the Sugata himself, the first arises. That can be established as the sound of indicating the nature of accomplishment, and not the other. If it is thought that the cause of this is only what is to be proven? The answer is: How these two causes are explained is immediately after that. In the commentary it is only clear. If asked: What is it that appears? Because it is the cause of the indication, it is the indication, how do you know that it is not that itself? To say that this is the cause is to say that in the case of the freedom of the perfect cause, it is the wish itself to benefit sentient beings, and it is to indicate as the Sage, and not in the case of the freedom of the perfect fruit. Therefore, it is not the main thing.
