In reality, it is not so, it is true, because other than the manifesting nature, nothing else is seen. Moreover, that is also other, therefore it is not recognition, but because of the dominance of desire. Even if it is recognition, it is manifested because of the dominance of desire, so the dominance of desire is sufficient. Moreover, for one's own nature, it does not depend on manifestation or explicit expression, because it is not dominated by it, and it leads to other meanings. The speaker himself is only the reason for understanding, but it has been shown that it is not a part of valid cognition ( प्रमाण ,pramāṇa,valid cognition). Therefore, merely knowing does not determine things, because it is not the cause of determination. For the things that are said, the things that enter due to the dominance of people are not things that can be seen, if it is thought that it enters because of the cause of awakening discrimination in a habitual way, then it is certain for one's own nature, but merely those are not satisfying, because they also exist in dreams and so on. If there is certainty in connection with what is to be touched, then that itself is valid cognition. It is the nature of the thing to be touched itself that determines, but not merely in connection with the thing to be touched, this is true, even if it is not the thing to be touched, its result is also understood from that itself, such as knowing that the son of a black man is black. From seeing many forms, attributing the cause to the effect, or attributing the effect to the cause, this is due to similarity, such as twins and so on. For this, also, it is to regard the result of what is to be touched as that itself. If that is the case, why is it said that what is similar to this meaning is valid cognition? The nature of its result itself is similar to that itself, it is called not abandoning the reality of things, because here that itself is said, so this is the nature similar to the meaning. If it is said that for this also it is only the similar one, then burning and cooking etc. are not completely similar to fire, but that itself is the result itself, therefore the nature of the meaning of what is to be touched, the nature of whose meaning the result itself is, if that is the case, then knowing that itself is the result. That itself is the cause of establishing that knowledge.

Therefore, it itself is valid cognition. In the world, isn't that which accords with the meaning of a promise the non-deceiver? Merely making a promise is not enough, nor is it that which accords with another. Similarly, knowledge is also non-deceptive, such as happiness and so forth. Merely understanding, and not according with another after not understanding, is not it. What then is it? It is according after understanding. Because the moment of understanding itself is apprehended as being one with the object to be accorded with, which is understanding. If there is understanding, there is accordance, therefore understanding itself is valid cognition, and not from another. To say "not from another" is not so, for only the nature that is connected with the object to be accorded with is valid cognition, and merely understanding is not valid cognition. Moreover, that which is not understanding is not a limb of entering, therefore understanding is dependent on that. The nature of knowledge that is connected with the object to be accorded with is also known by itself, like the nature of subsequent inference. That itself is knowledge, and not that which is connected with it, it is not so, for like the knowledge of blackness in a black person's son, that itself is the object of knowledge, because it is connected. Therefore, that itself is valid cognition, and knowing that is the result. It is also said that being similar to the meaning is valid cognition, and understanding the meaning is the result of valid cognition. Therefore, by imputing to the nature of knowledge, one enters, but not entering the external. If one also imputes the nature of knowledge to the external, then there is only non-entering, because no one seeks the meaning. If the nature of knowledge and the external are not separate, therefore one enters, if they are not separate, then those who seek external things will even less enter, therefore that is clear. Having made appearances and discriminations one, and so forth, those who consider that itself to be the truth, should similarly explain those objects that arise from that. If merely understanding itself is valid cognition, then it would also become that which arises from sound. Does not that which arises from sound also make one know the external? For that which is other than the knowable and the knower, there is no connection. It is not so, because know
