The refutation is made with words such as "It is also said to appear, etc.," which means that even if it is one, there are no many. The answer to this is "depending on the function of the sense faculties," which means that remembering the words "even if there is harm to each of the sense faculties," it has already been refuted and answered. Here, even if there is no following of its function, it is only seen together, and it is assumed that it is its result, saying that it will become its other result. The meaning of this sentence is: This sentence is repeated, and it can also be used for this meaning, which means that combining with clinging to following its function is obtained by "as it should be." If it is indeed produced from the sense faculties, then its result will be clearly manifested and clung to by consciousness like other results. The refutation of this tenet is that the clear manifestation itself should not be the arising object of the sense faculties, because it will arise even without an object, which is called "also from the sense faculties." Even without the sense faculties, it will arise in dreams, etc., which is called "even if you close your eyes." The answer is "no matter how it transforms," which means that the difference of clear manifestation is the arising object of the sense faculties. Repeating to explain the other is "to this as it should be." It means that the former is the act of clinging, and the latter is consciousness, which is the difference. The answer is "because of its transformation, it becomes consciousness." Another answer is "also from the aggregate," for this, the previous reason is repeated, which is for the tenet, and it is not the complete producer. Because there is no that knowledge, it will not excessively cling as it should be. Even if it is from having the sense faculties, consciousness will not arise and cling, but it will transform from not having the sense faculties, and there is no fault as mentioned above. If other results of the nature of knowledge are not seen, then similarly, because the nature of the result and the cause are both clung to as the result itself? Or the cause itself?

It exists now, but not otherwise, because it is a fallacy. If the mind consciousness as seen is the result of hair and nails, then it also becomes their cause, not producing other results similar to it, so it is not merely what they produce. If that is the case, then smoke will not become what fire produces either. Repeating with "each of the senses" is also not, because that would prevent the arising of the senses. If one thinks so, because it is without mind, like the outer elements, it is not with those who have mind. If there is certainty of being together, then among these of mind and senses, which is the result of which will be examined. On a dead body, when the mind departs, the senses also depart, but hair and nails do not. Like the senses, there is no distinction of power and blessing on this either. Like the power of the senses, thinking that it is its power is also impossible, because there is no power, so they are established as the nature of mind that is not with those who have mind. If the certainty of them not being together is established, because there is no reason, it is not permissible to examine the results that depend on it. In the commentary it also says: "When hair and nails, etc., do not see mind." etc., it should be known that this is the meaning. If it is related to it, then "without it, the mind will not know" this only clarifies that there is no co-existence, and "having mind" is the reason for fabricating the result together with the mind. Touch, etc., are the roots of touch, etc. "How to exist together" means that if there is no result and cause, there is no certainty of existing together. The power of the senses and the action together, how is it certain that the mind exists together? Weakness, etc., have no roots, and there is no thought of "I", because it follows the action of its produced consciousness.
