You must certainly understand this. However, the prior cognition is not a valid cognition for this. The prior cognition also did not grasp the certainty of the object, and even at the time of the later cognition, it will not abandon its own nature, so it will not become something with certainty of the object. Doubt is not wanting to grasp the situation where later certainty is encountered. Therefore, what and what relationship is being grasped? Time also sees the same situation as this, how can one enter from it? If certainty has been grasped beforehand, then grasping the relationship of these, through a subsequent inference similar to this, all entries are the same. Indeed, it is only the later cognition that is grasped at that time because it does not arise if it is meaningless. Since the prior cognition is not like this, there is no fault. Those who possess it, because they are included by it, therefore, the words spoken, by showing that there are no other aggregates, if one is missing from the objects of doubt, the other does not exist, this is the certainty of meaning. If there are other aggregates, it will not change in that way, this is to show this meaning. Therefore, for grasping uncertain situations, know that this is doubting. This is merely manifest clinging to a non-place. When showing that there are no other aggregates, it is a branch of doubt, but not a branch of certainty. It is said thus: From the determination of valid cognition, because self and severance both encompass everything, therefore it should not not belong to everything, but is doubting. It is also said thus. Because there are no other aggregates, it is not understanding. Moreover, understanding is not understanding both, because it is the nature of doubt. If it becomes outside of both, how does it belong to it? It is said thus. What is shown is to understand that becoming outside of both does not exist. Doubt that it does not exist, or doubt that it is the nature of both. Determine that one of these is missing. The cognition of doubt that has not grasped the certainty of the object will not be certain to be the nature of one. If it is not like this, it will become that even when there are no other aggregates, there will be doubt. If it is said that it is due to contradiction, then it is the same for doubt as well. Therefore, in order to determine one thing, it is shown that it is another cognition, and doubt itself

No. The latter is the valid cognition because it arises when there is meaning, but the former is not. That is also not the case, even if the latter is attached to the same identity as the former, it is not certain, so the realization as something else is not eliminated. What is the difference between this and the former? For those with cataracts, the latter would also become a valid cognition, because for them, saying "it is unreasonable to have two cognitions for one thing" etc., is also mutually dependent and endless like the former. If that is the case, how can it be non-deceptive? It is said that belonging to burning etc. is the purpose of a person, and with its own essence, that itself is also to be encountered, because a person also enters for that purpose, not because they want to encounter it and seek the latter from that. If one has not encountered that, then because one wants that, one strives for that method. The former cognition is the realization of one's own essence, but the latter method is what one strives for, not one's own essence, because it is not the purpose of a person. And the essence of this is certain like smoke. That method, if one is not accustomed to it, must be determined from elsewhere like smoke alone, and if one is accustomed to it, then it is determined from that alone. Because it is the result of that, is the attachment to the identity with that the same place as that place? Even if it is the object of that former one. Is the yellow cognition of a conch shell the method to be encountered? It is not to determine the identity with that, only one's own essence, just as a person who sees fire is certain about smoke, it is not certain. Therefore, because it is not a valid cognition and is not uncommon, and because certainty has arisen, there is no doubt, like the cognition of fire. One's own essence is first determined by direct perception, and there is also habit, so is it related to that? Because one determines that itself, direct perception is a valid cognition. The former is also the determination of one's own essence for those who are not accustomed to it, and there is doubt about what should be encountered. If one recognizes that, then the doubt about what should be encountered will disappear, and if that disappears, then one will be certain about one's own essence, because it is determined by being related to the recognition of what should be encountered. Meaning.
