That which says that the essence of sentient beings, such as substantial existence, is not liberated, is also different in the states of the former and the latter. It is not reasonable because of the differences of sentient beings, etc., who do not believe in it. This also shows that even in the separate ones, it is the nature of the cause, like the absence of the states, etc. Therefore, it is said to be the nature of the cause. However, if the state itself is able to connect the former and the latter times, then if this is absent, how can it connect? If it is said to connect to the dead, it is a delusion, like connecting to cut hair. If the inner and outer are also different in each moment, then if connecting to that is a delusion, how can it enter? If there is no complete establishment, then all names should not be allowed, because one wants to allow the permanent and unchanging one that abides constantly, and seeing what is related and appearing is not allowed as the cause of names. If it is said that continuity is the cause, even if it is continuity, if there is no connection by the former, how can it be the cause of names? If it is said that 'I' and 'this' are also connections, if they are parts of names, then it is true, but only what generates holding on to one, because its nature is to discriminate without doing so. Therefore, the holder is the cause of names, as it is said: 'That seeing is all seeing, born from the power of consciousness, born from memory, from desire, names are established.' This means that 'I' is definitely held as one, then it becomes the doer and the enjoyer, and the other is not. From the distinction, if the action has been done, then the doer has perished. If there is no doer of the action that has been done, then for the sake of giving the result, the enjoyer of the action that has not been done will come to receive the result. Therefore, the action that has been done does not perish at all, because it is the object known as 'I', the continuum of mind, which is the nature of the indestructible Dharma. Because even in times of sleep and fainting, random thoughts arise. If the enjoyer is other, if it is the result, then it is not the object of 'I', then it should change.

Therefore, it does not exist in the previous and subsequent moments of mind. If it is said that there is a fault of different moments, then, although the state is different, it is not state-like, just like space, the doer or the eater does not do that thing in the way of state, and the doer and the eater themselves do not depend on the state of the person. If it is said that because it has that state, only the doer can obtain the result, then, for this, the result that follows the different states is not transformed from the one with the state, otherwise it will also be transformed from the space, this is what is to be shown. If it is said that it is its state, then, without difference, it will also be transformed from the space. If it is said that the reason for connecting it with one is the one with the state, not the space, then, although it is true, it is not possible to only cling to it, because there is no reason to distinguish, how can it be the doer itself? If it is said that connecting it with one is established, then the one with the state is close to being established, why do you want to maintain unnecessary things? Therefore, if it is said that the continuum that makes the result and the cause itself as one is destroyed, then, if the diversity itself is not abandoned, then its fault is not abandoned, which is obvious. If the result made by other continuums is eaten by someone different from it, then it will become doing destruction and so on, if it is its own, then it is not destruction. On the realm of the continuum of result and cause, in the world, one can see this term of its own. Therefore, those who say that the doer and the eater etc. are uncertain from the existence of cause etc. should not be blamed. Therefore, even if the worldlings admit enjoyment, the Mind-Only school says that there is a self, because consciousness is momentary, the doer and the eater will become others. This is not true. Because the wise men of the Mind-Only school are observing the difference of moments, but the world does not observe because there is no reason. In order to establish power and non-power etc., the wise men of the Mind-Only school will observe, but the world sees it directly.
