Therefore, like this, those who realize the truth as it is, through familiarity, can only see their own nature. For those who are not familiar, it should be known that it is only through other explanations, and not through understanding one's own nature. Only in these cases, the distinction of one's own nature can be discerned from smoke, whether familiar or unfamiliar, it can be known from the result of the smoke itself. And one's own nature is recognized through the result that is to be encountered itself. Seeing the nature of cause and effect also includes seeing phenomena such as form, which exist as a unity of constantly existing moments. In this way, the knowledge of one's own nature that is related to what is to be encountered is the knowledge of what is to be encountered, because it itself is the measurable knowledge. Valid cognition itself is measurable knowledge. If there is no valid cognition, where would there be measurable knowledge? Or, the characteristic is the revelation of one's own nature, and not just what is understood by those who have inverted cognitions. If it is said that it is cognition for the sake of establishment, then it falls into the category of the fully conceptualized. Or, valid cognition simply does not exist, because there is no non-deception, etc. Therefore, for those who claim that the fully conceptualized does not exist at all, thereby denying all valid cognitions, it should be said that measurable knowledge depends on valid cognition. Valid cognition exists, because it can see things without deception, etc. By the statement "non-perceptual valid cognition does not exist," it distinguishes those who claim that there is no inference. Or, in the doctrine of the Sugata, it is only consciousness, and whether directly or indirectly, this is ultimate. For this, since there is no measurable object, neither non-deception itself nor anything else can be measured by it. Therefore, valid cognition aimed at it is impossible. Knowing one's own nature is not valid cognition, but knowing what is to be encountered is valid cognition. As it is said: Is it valid cognition or non-valid cognition? Merit, demerit, etc., and their results. All such things are unreasonable for a mind that is empty of meaning. Thus it is declared.

It is said that it depends on valid cognition. Being associated with what should be encountered is worldly valid cognition. This is merely knowledge, and it is not special. Even so, the Vedas and so on are valid cognition for the afterlife and so on, and it is established in the world, which means there is no opportunity for complete examination. In this regard, the Blessed One himself is. This is what was said. Among them, 'that' refers to the two reasons of the occasion or what should be established. There are also four divisions among them. Is the Blessed One himself the valid cognition for the Dharma, or is it other, or both, or neither? Seeking to fully investigate this. Here, this mode will become the basis. Among them, excluding those three aspects, showing complete acceptance of the first aspect, that is, valid cognition is also the Blessed One himself. The valid cognition that arises from otherness itself is also independent of its own result. The result is also not determined or entered into its meaning, or if not, then the former is at the time when the knowledge of the result arises, in the middle, seeing the arising of offerings, what should be entered into, if there is a reason for determining the meaning, then it is arising. If it is said that the other dependence is the knowledge of the qualities of the cause itself. If it is valid cognition, then it is dependence, otherwise it is not. Therefore, that dependence is also the knowledge of other qualities. That is also other, so it will become endless. Or, if dependence is the valid cognition that is depended on, then there is no fault in saying that what is depended on is also from other. It is not, because it will become mutually dependent. Obtaining self-nature also depends on the qualities of the cause, but not on its own result, like a pot depends on a potter and so on. It also depends on non-deceptive knowledge. This should also be combined with two refutations. Momentary consciousness is not present at the time of non-deceptive knowledge of qualities. Therefore, since the valid cognition that is promised as valid cognition contradicts being with dependence, it should not be promised, therefore, through strength, it is established as being without dependence. That is: Only one, without dependence, The sign itself is the reason. If in dependence, Abides in that.
