If it is said that it is because there is no familiarity there, that is not the case. Because familiarity only produces happiness, then because it has already arisen, the experience becomes the same. How do you understand this distinction? It is said: When one's own suffering, appears as one's own nature, it is distress, this is not unknown. At that time, it will not be so excessive. Which one is self-aware of happiness? Happiness itself, which yogi who takes the happiness of others etc. as the object, that is not one who possesses attachment etc. Therefore, those yogis will not be distressed by such suffering etc. How can experiencing fire etc. be distressing? No, because the yogi does not have that. How will it be for others? Fire etc. is not like that, because it is unreasonable. Whatever happiness etc. is produced by self-awareness, those are not different from it. All awareness will not become the same in experience. Therefore, through all knowledge, the objects and experiences are different. The object that is in accordance with meaning, those that are manifested by self-awareness are experiences. The ability to establish its aspect is the object of experience, and the self-manifestation of the nature of self is awareness. Therefore, happiness and awareness will cause distress, but merely establishing its aspect will not. What difference is there in itself? Ultimately, there is nothing, there is no difference between happiness and its aspect. However, thinking that oneself is bound by it, one will definitely think that it is inner suffering. Yogis are not like that, therefore it is not happiness itself. Therefore, consciousness is self-awareness, if it is not like that, the distinction of happiness etc. is impossible. Isn't wisdom etc. merely the difference of familiarity? Are those not inconsistent with the meaning that appears? That meaning is also not the nature of wisdom etc., because familiarity does not enter into it. Through familiarity, meaning does not manifest. Therefore, wisdom that is different from meaning is with aspects. Isn't wisdom etc. not the nature of consciousness? Therefore

If it is said that it (phenomena) is without characteristics, then does consciousness not become without characteristics? The answer is no. Wisdom is what distinguishes, how it grasps it, the mind is also like that. It grasps the meaning, and if the meanings do not exist, then consciousness is also like that. If wisdom grasps the differences of meaning, and if it is consciousness, then consciousness is also without characteristics, why does it not grasp the meaning? If it is also completely without characteristics, the answer is: that is not possible, just like this. The so-called wisdom, in an instant, the pure meaning is what appears. And other inferences should not be wisdom itself. Therefore, it is also with characteristics, thus showing and explaining. If consciousness is not considered to be self-awareness, then, since no meaning is realized, it will become without names. The explanation for this is: Furthermore, if there is no direct perception, the mind depends on the sign. That sign is also the sense faculty, the object, or the mind, or the previous mental activity. From these collections of cause and effect, there is no other connection, because no ability is seen. Therefore, because of delusion, it is not the sense faculty. If it is not direct perception itself, then it is inference and entry with hidden objects. That is also from the sign, and that sign is also the ultimate of mental activity such as the sense faculties, because there is no other connection. Understanding through meaning also comes from seeing the connection itself. That is because it enters without entering other views. For this, it is not the sense faculty for the time being, because of delusion. If the sign is without delusion, it is not unreasonable for the sense faculty not to be like that, it should be acknowledged as the cause itself. Ability is also not necessarily uncertain without seeing the result. The meaning is also the same. Also, like the sense faculty, because of delusion. Mind, mental activity, consciousness, that is also not established. Mind is not a sign, because that is what is to be established, so it is not established. Mental activity is also the previous mind itself, even if it is not established at the time of arising, how is it established at other times? Just like this, what is not established is not the sign itself, the sign is what is established. If it is not like that but is the sign itself, then everything becomes the sign itself, everything
