It should also be applied to other things. If so, when sleeping or waking up, any wisdom that has a clear appearance, that is non-conceptual. If it is not so, then it is conceptual. Whether it is intention or something else, as long as it is non-conceptual, as long as it is clear, then it is non-conceptual, this has been explained. Therefore, even if it is non-conceptual, validity itself is negated, because it is deceptive. For this reason, apparent perception is divided into two types. The teacher has explained the two types of apparent perception caused by discrimination and delusion. Distinguishing them by the near-perfect deception arising from dazzling, this is to distinguish them from the category of discrimination. If it were not so, there would be no need to explain them separately, and that would become a cause for expressing unwisdom. So, is delusion the object of mental delusion? If asked in this way, then what is this explanation? That is because it is explained by the will of others. According to the definition that "anything that arises from the meeting of the senses and objects is perception," delusion is considered to be the object of mental delusion. It is impossible for something that arises merely from the meeting of the senses and objects to be delusion, delusion is the special discrimination of the mind. Is something that arises merely from the senses without meaning not also a delusion? If someone says, "Why is it called the object of delusion?" No, because by mentioning meaning, it becomes clear. It is like being present but not existing. As it is said: "For things arising from the senses and objects, there is no possibility of speech, etc." It should be known that speech, etc., are the mind itself. If it is not to eliminate unspeakable words, etc., then what is it? It is to emphasize expressing one's own essence. If someone asks, "Does the knowledge arising from the meeting of the senses and objects change in this way, and not in other ways?" No, if so, then it would be impossible to show the so-called nature of attachment. The thing that arises merely from the meeting of the senses and objects is not the nature of attachment, but the subsequent...

Who can measure, also because of the nature of attachment. Therefore, whatever is the nature of attachment, that is direct perception, not others, it is reasonable to eliminate in this way. If it is slightly eliminated, and slightly is stating the self-nature. Then, whatever arises from the meeting of sense faculties and objects, and the nature of attachment, that is delusion, and it will become unspeakable, is that so? That is unreasonable, because non-delusion itself should be stated, now it is valid cognition. What to do with an unspeakable object? It is unreasonable to become valid cognition in that way, because it is not valid cognition in other aspects either. Therefore, what is this? Even if one states one's own nature, it will become too extreme, because meeting with self and others will also become necessary to state. If it is said that only what is unique to direct perception itself is stated, while self and other common things are not stated. If that is the case, then this is the difference of elimination, not focusing on stating one's own nature. This also clarifies existence and encounter, etc. In this way, will this become a definition? In order to establish it in another way, one states one's own nature. Regarding this, if it is said that "when there is existence and encounter" is a definition, then one should say "direct perception with the meaning of existence" or "direct perception arising from the senses and without harm." If it is said that one states one's own nature accordingly in order to show that the dharma is not a reason. Even so, one should only state "arising from the senses." What is the point of stating others meaninglessly? Moreover, merely stating accordingly is also unreasonable. It is said like this: From the discourse of the expounders of knowledge, in order to establish external objects, therefore one must strive to eliminate others with a definition. Buddhas and others, following their own tenets, accept the definition of direct perception. Therefore, in order to refute those, one must state other definitions. The definitions of the Sugatas, because they are in accordance with the Mind-Only school and the emptiness school, will undoubtedly clarify those.
