It is unreasonable to say "with non-existence." For example: If it is as clear as a mirror, because it is placed close and changes, then the eyes and other things appear to change, but that is not seen. As much as there is on the mirror, all those that are close appear to change. Therefore, all forms and so on will become merely appearances. However, if the eye is like a mirror, it is the cause of appearance, and it appears there like a mirror and so on, it will be seen as not being very large. Therefore, one cannot know what the nature is like, and what the measure is. With eye diseases such as cataracts, the color also appears as something else. However, if the eyeball protrudes and enters into forms and so on, and grasping arises with its own nature such as size, if it arises, if the light and appearance of a lamp, because of the connection, have a special entity, and because it arises, one recognizes the nature, just as the light and appearance of a lamp are connected, if it does not change, then because there is another agent, it will become infinite. However, when self-awareness occurs, how are those rays of light? Therefore, consciousness abides in meaning and enters into its form. If one knows only from what arises from it, everything will become form. If that from which it arises becomes that form, the form of the eye also changes, and also from that, because wisdom arises. The explanation for this is: From the objects arise all the consciousnesses. Even if there are other causes, some forms change into the form of the object. It is not the case that what arises from something becomes its form. For example: food and time, etc., are the cause of the birth of a child, but that does not hold the form of one of the parents, just as it is not some other. The child born from that does not hold the same form as both parents, but only some. Therefore, the form of the object is only from the object itself. For example: distant objects, from trees, the consciousness arises as the form of that, not as the form of the senses, which can be seen at all times. Even if other things and objects besides that are the same in that cause, because it wants that to have the object, it will not be there without that. The cause itself is not the object, but it is the cause of the consciousness becoming that form.
