It has already been explained that everything is self-awareness. If the external does not exist, then will this self disappear? If so, then that which is not hidden without mind will not change. However, that which is not hidden is itself seeing. If that is the case, then is there no need to examine other things? The mind with that form is also seeing, so what is the use of examining other things? Like this: Free from the distinction of seeing, Not grasping, grasping because of grasping. The appearance of blue is seeing, The external is vain and meaningless. Whatever is seen should be acknowledged. Like this, the blue itself contained within the appearance is not something other than the appearance. Therefore, there is no valid cognition that proves it to be different from the appearance. Therefore, it should not be acknowledged. However, it does not appear to be contained within the appearance, because the appearance is internal, and blue and so on appear to be external. If it is different, then it will not appear, because it appears by its own nature being unhidden. Like this: If it is different, Blue will not be hidden. By nature unhidden, There is no other unhidden from it. For example, the form of grasping is unhidden by its own nature, but not because there is another grasper. Similarly, blue and so on, which exist simultaneously with it, are also the same. Again, just as the form of the grasper comes from the eye and so on, so too does the form of the grasped, which exists simultaneously with it, because the objects of cause and effect have the characteristic of changing according to their existence or non-existence. The prior and subsequent existence of things is not determined by valid cognition, because manifestation does not intervene in the prior and subsequent. However, if it is said that there is no prior or subsequent, then how is it understood? Why not examine whether the forms of grasping, such as consciousness and happiness, also exist prior? If it is said that it is so because the self is permanent, then why not examine whether that which is unhidden also exists prior? Because there is contradiction. Not understanding is not reasonable for that which is unhidden. If it is said that it is reasonable even without understanding different things, then who understands the difference? That itself
