Because existence itself is established. If it is not non-existence, it will become doubt. If it is admitted to be valid, then non-existence itself is also unreasonable. When doubting the existence of self in a living body, why wouldn't one doubt about a vase, etc.? Not doubting it is because it can establish life, etc., or it cannot be taken as an object by others. Therefore, even if there is no return from non-existence, one will doubt the return from the similar side. Because one doubts it, one will also return from the dissimilar side. Because one doubts the self, it is inevitable that the vase, etc., themselves become similar or dissimilar sides. Therefore, because one doubts the return from the similar side, how can this be something that has a return? If Buddhists admit that vases, etc., are not without self, then because all dharmas are separate from the self, the living body will also become without self. If the Buddhist's admission is not valid, then at that time, vases, etc., will also not become without self because of his admission, so the fault is still the same. Therefore, in the two aggregates, one is definitely established, and from the other, even if the establishment of return is not seen, one will doubt things that are not seen. Even if it is not seen, one will doubt things that are not seen because they are not the nature of the object, so nothing can be established as having no things by doubt. Furthermore, even if it is allowed that vases, etc., are established as without self, life, etc., cannot establish self. These cannot be established as returning from the dissimilar side, because there is also the possibility of entering. If it is a return from the dissimilar side, then how can it enter into that itself? It is unreasonable for one without self to be both with life, etc., and to become other. Therefore, it will not become old, because it is reasonable to be determined as one's own nature. This is not so, just like this. Although it is clear but not pervasive, because its kind of change is meaningful, some things do not exist because they are not seen. Just like a hard thing is cut by a weapon. If one does not see what contradicts existence, then from what will one return? For what reason, the absence of self for the living body, life, etc...

It will also become devoid of. Not all selflessness is the same. However, among selflessness, some possess life and so on, while others do not. For example, among hard things, some can be cut by swords, while others change into other shapes. In this way, if no contradiction of existence is seen, from where will doubt arise? If it is not established that there is contradiction with selflessness, then life and so on will not be separated from selflessness. By what means can it be made to separate? Life and so on, with selflessness, are not contradictory characteristics other than non-coexistence. If it is said that even if there is no direct contradiction, but because of indirect contradiction, life and so on can make selflessness separate, that is not correct. Because, it says: In some cases, it is its result, what else can be determined as self? If life and so on are determined as self, then it will contradict selflessness, because contradicting the pervasive, the pervaded also contradicts. Life and so on are not determined as self, because it cannot be determined that it is not its own nature, nor does it arise from it. If it is not so, then it is impossible to determine. Life and so on are not the fruit of self, nor is it the nature of self, which cannot be established by valid cognition. Unrelated to self. Therefore, even from selflessness, there is doubt whether it is separated. There, without connection, it is not separated from its inconsistent side. Even if separation is allowed, self cannot be established from the absence of selflessness. By what means is it inseparable? It is not considered that the determined thing is real. For example, in the consistent side of life and so on, even if there is no separation, it does not exist. If the reason is on the consistent side, without separation, it is a consequent with a cause. Not having a consequent, without separation, is neither selfless nor with self. Just as in the consistent side, there is no non-existence, but it does not exist on the consistent side either. Even if there is no selflessness, there will be no self in the living body. Isn't inconsistency stated? In this way, on the consistent side, even if there is no separation, it does not exist, because it does not exist. In non-existence, things cannot exist.
