Similarly, that which previously exists, some faults, will not become the result, that which previously exists, the knowledge at that time, will become the result. Eleventh fascicle. The explanation for this is: The knowledge that previously exists does not necessarily arise immediately, because the obscuring root is not always closely associated with sound. For example, a pot that has just been produced is the result of effort, but it is not the potter's effort that makes it manifest, because the entire collection of causes would become meaningless. Because everything exists in everything. Because some things should not be used. Actions will become useless. If it is said that the causes determine it, otherwise it will become chaotic, then what is determination? Like this: There is no such thing as determination except to exclude others. Even with hundreds of causes, there is no exclusion of the proximity of existence. Because exclusion has no entity, how can it be observed later? If it does not exist, then the realization will arise later. If it is said that the result exists before, then all determinations are existence itself. Therefore, existence is not reasonable for any action. However, if existence is to be distinguished, as the basis for establishment, if that also becomes a result, then there will be two realizations for it. If it does not exist, it cannot act. Even if it exists, how does it act? Existence and non-existence are the same, existence cannot be proven by measure. If it exists, it will always exist. What does the cause do to it? If it does not exist, it cannot act, therefore the cause is meaningless. Therefore, the pot that arises immediately is the result of the potter, but it is not to be manifested. Then, just as a lamp manifests what is observed at other times, will sound also be manifested by effort? No, because the pot's prior existence is established by measure. Because sound has no characteristics before effort. Is this also the same? No, because the appearance of recognition is clear in a hundred forms. Clarity is not coming again, and death is not reviving again. Also, what

Or is it to prove that there is knowledge through recognition? Or are two knowledges established as existing in the middle? If it is said that it is proven by knowledge, then at that time, that previous knowledge has already proven it, and it is named by memory, so what is the need for recognition for it? If it is said that recognition proves that it still exists now, and memory proves that it exists at that time, because it is remembered as it is seen, then that is not the case. Like this: If from the existence of memory, recognition will enter, then for the meaning of memory, through recognition, that is not born of the sense faculty. Apart from sense-born memory, no other connection is seen. Therefore, since it is not sense-born, memory will become not a valid cognition. The senses do not enter into the meaning of memory, otherwise Kaushambi and others would become directly perceived. Therefore, memories would also become a fault of being directly perceived. Or, if the senses enter into what is being seen, then what does recognition do? Is it needed to become one with memory? That is not the case. Because memory is not a valid cognition. Therefore, how can the object to be measured be one? The subject is not true, the dharma is clearly not true. The former is related to time, and cannot be understood without memory. Merely appearing things will change even without recognition. Merely appearing white and yellow, etc., is not the appearance of a permanent nature, because it also exists when things appear. Or, for it, the nature of permanence residing in other times also appears, but direct perception does not prevent it. Direct perception is said to be able to establish, not to prevent things. If things are in other times, direct perception grasps the pervasiveness, because by grasping all parts of time, it will become grasping the edge of death. Therefore, in the previous time, it was memory that grasped, not direct perception. Therefore, since memory is not a valid cognition, the thing it understands becomes not the same truth, because if the subject is not true, the dharma is not true. Or, for what is true now, the previous non-true abides, because true and non-true are mixed, those two become one.
