In order to show that "it is not other," two are shown. In order to show that if these two are reversed and argued, it will be contradictory, so there are two others. In order to understand with certainty even things that cannot be determined by merely seeing or not seeing, so there are two others that distinguish them. Showing the remaining three is to show that refutation is the main meaning, because the reason is understood through refutation. Therefore, through inference, it is to prove the distinction itself. This is the meaning to be shown. These nine dharmas as one side are: measurable, made, impermanent, made, audible, produced by effort, impermanent, produced by effort, non-touch, these nine are as signs, etc. If the made itself and the things that just arose are the same, then how can repetition not be redundant? It will become contradictory to the reason, and how can it be nine? Because repetition itself will not become the basis of different numbers. If you say so, then the answer is: because of what? Permanent, impermanent, produced by effort, the three permanent in the middle, non-produced by effort, impermanent, permanent, are the establisher, the measurable itself, etc. Therefore, everything is reasonable. There is nothing that is established by its own nature, because it depends on what is to be established, it will become what can be established. Because what is to be established is different and related, so one thing will contradict the true reason, so there is nothing unreasonable. Therefore, there are two reasons, that is, because it is made, so it is impermanent, this is the reason of nature, and "because it is just produced" is the reason of the result. The made itself is the reason of nature, and the just arising itself is the reason of the result, this should be distinguished and understood. If the refutation does not change, it is because it has its characteristics. Because it does not have other characteristics, it is not a refutation. From nature itself, there is no pervasion for the knowable, because the cause may be confused. Therefore, the results all belong to two kinds. The made itself is because of the equal pervasion. Having equal pervasion is not a result.

The reason lies in the confusion about the result. The cause is not without consumption and possessing a result. Therefore, all results exist in two ways. The very thing that has just arisen also exists in two ways, therefore, this is the reason for the result. Mere impermanence does not constitute the cognition of the result that has just arisen, therefore, it exists in two ways on the similar side. The cause immediately produces the result, and so does all impermanence, even though cognition is the result, since it truly pervades, it is the reason of self-nature. Just as the indicated itself is said to exist. The characteristic of the cognition that has just arisen is not existence, because otherwise it would lead to the non-existence of other things. Therefore, cognition is like climbing to the top of the city of different results built by things that follow and go against. Therefore, the certainty expressed by the sound of "arising immediately after effort" is the reason for the result. How is it understood that "the cognition that has just arisen is the result of impermanence"? Likewise, since the result of effort is not singular, it is said to be similar to the result. Clarity and effort are the result, and also the cause of arising. For example, the effort of lighting a butter lamp does not prove that the vase itself is the result. The effort of wheels and so on is also the same, because both are seen, how is it determined to be one? Likewise, it is explained in detail. If sound is considered to be permanent, then sound should be eliminated. If it is not so, then it is made. Merely using the term "sound is made" does not understand that sound is made, because "making" means connection, like saying "touch my foot", "touch my back". The reason for the permanence of sound is cognition. Therefore, since it always exists, possessing both that time and not that time, possessing valid cognition of existence, like a butter lamp to a vase, sound should also be eliminated. Elimination is also an approachable target, the characteristic of elimination has no other.
