reason. If it is said that it is a fault of breaking the vow, then at that time it is the intention itself, because the statement is "sound is permanent, because it is impermanent." If so, because of certainty, it will become sound itself. Therefore, eliminating permanence itself will become a fault. Therefore it is said: Therefore, what depends on sound is eliminated by impermanence. The teacher said, if sound is the basis, then here the reason will eliminate the meaning of the vow. Merely sound being the basis will eliminate it, because contradictory things do not exist together, this has been explained separately, therefore it is not elimination. Therefore, this is merely shown by the example of dissimilar dharma. If that is without reason, then it is said: The reason is the nature of giving, where in five ways what is to be proven, not confused with the dissimilar aspect, what is said is the example. The reason is the nature of giving, whatever is impermanent, that is everything, and sound is not everything, that is what is said. If you understand it this way, it is said: Speaking of contradiction in other realms, sound is what is said differently. In general, it does not slander the difference, that is also unreasonable. Impermanence, which is contrary to permanence, merely speaking in a realm other than sound, is saying that sound is different. Everything is pervaded by impermanence. Sound is different from it because it is permanent, so everything is not, that is the reason here, because it has been shown to be different. The reason is different, that is also not established, because sound is also everything, saying this: In general, it is not reasonable to abandon the difference. If the difference is abandoned, then the nature of the general will not be obtained, because it is determined in the realm of abandoning the difference within the differences themselves. Or, if all sounds refer to quantity, then sound is only a part, so it is not complete, if you think so, that is not right, if so, if you exclude separately, none will become everything. If you say that sometimes you see the abandonment of difference, saying that the fragrant tree is not a tree, that is not right, for example, sometimes the fragrant tree, itself is not a tree. All hearing is unique, preventing entry.
