It is seen that the smell is carried by the wind. Even so, if it is said that it is carried by gathering on the arrived ground, that is not right, because the smell can be seen but the ground cannot be seen. If only the (smell) produced from that (ground) is blown away by the wind, what is contradictory? Because merit has no function. Because it is only carried, that (merit) itself without function cannot be established, and if it is carried together, then can't it be established together with function? No, because carrying together is not established. How can merit have function? This will become another fault. If in some treatises, non-homogeneous merits etc. are prohibited, and other reasons are not desired, this is like the rule of the king. Also, in one's own place, there is no such thing as carrying when it is destroyed. Having function is called having, it is not in the object of destruction. Why doesn't such a moment arise in another place for merit? Don't others think that sound is similar to water waves? Also, Other than merit, the one with merit is not established by measurement. Are touches etc. different, can others be seen? If the smell is gathered, if someone thinks that (the smell) is with the earth, then the sound is also the merit of the earth etc. Therefore, if it is thought that (the smell) is with the earth etc., then what is the use of observing the sky? Also, even if the earth etc. can be observed by actions such as holding, the sky is for opening up space. What does it mean to open up space? For a place without a place. Earth etc. are obstacles to things dwelling together, so there must be a great element that can open up space, and that is space. If you say so, this is also possible, like this: If other great elements dwell, there is no obstacle to dwelling. Even if they do not exist with each other, there is no obstacle to dwelling. If other great elements, without other great elements dwelling, only (things) without other parts, are called space. If there is no space, where do other great elements such as wind live? If there are no other great elements, where does space live? This will be endless. However, space is without support.

If it is said to be the essence and also becomes the support of other things, then wind is also the essence without support and also becomes the support of other things, therefore, it is not good to fully understand other things. Furthermore, how can it be said that in some places, the sky does not have the nature of falling? The basis of wind with movement, how can it be considered the sky? If it is said that wind comes from the sky and there is no obstacle to movement, this is not the answer. There is no obstacle to movement because there is no obstacle. However, how can the pervasive and constant sky be held by other things? Therefore, if it is said that this has no support and becomes the support of other things, because of being formless and pervasive, I am also its nature. That itself as the other support, why is it not considered? For things without such a self, what is the use of the sky? The place is also pervasive, therefore, the function of the sky should be investigated from there. Because of mutual pervasiveness, why are pervasive things not one? If it is said that the sky is called appearance, but not self and so on, then how can it be one? If it is said that according to the designation of the name, the meaning is understood as the name is, then it should be consistent with it. The gap itself is the sky, because there is nothing to make the gap disappear, so it is called that. When there is something that makes the gap disappear, where did the sky go? The sky is not produced from the mind, this is invisible. If there is no it, it and other things do not exist, where did the sky go? Did it disappear? If it is said that the constant thing is there, then it is contradictory to say that there is no gap and there is sky. Even if it exists there, if it is not like that, it will not exist. Then, what is the so-called existence? Is it being grasped? Or is it not being hindered? If it is being grasped, then it is not, because the pot and so on are not grasped by the sky, but by the earth. If it is not being hindered, then it is not true, like this: What makes this be hindered? If there is no that, it will become like that. The sky has no hindrance, eliminating existence, the sky will rise. Therefore, if there are no four great elements, the sky
