Then, in the supreme, the knowledge with the aspect of this and that which are not this and that, is other and different knowledge. There, there is no difference and action. The discriminating thought that differentiates, comes from following and reversing, is related to unobstructed habit, and is not preceded by direct perception. Knowing the aspect of the previous similar things, the habit generated by experience, is the reversed discriminating thought, it is only a succession of blind people. These are the intermediate verses. If the knowledge with that aspect generates, then the thing itself will act on it, but the thing does not act through knowledge. Then, how is it determined that knowledge grasps the thing? The answer to this is: for example, the nature of the fruit and the cause are similar and arise, even if it does not have the action, the world says that the cause grasps the form. For example, a son who is like his father, even if he does not have the action of the producer, the world says he is like his father. Similarly, what contradiction is there for knowledge to have such a designation? If one sees its aspect there, then how is it? To this, it can also be seen in sorrow and so on. That aspect comes from the knowledge itself with that aspect, and not from the thing, this is indisputable. For the time being, it is only from its own aspect that it can be determined that it is its aspect. If seeing has the power of the cause of habit, then it is its own aspect that arises from experience. However, if one enters into things that have not been seen or heard before, then, at that time, because there is no power of habit, because it arises from other causes, that cause is the external object. Like this: whatever arises from habit, that exists only on one thing. If the thing exists, then here, everything will arise in common. Therefore, the aspect of the thing itself needs to be established. Therefore, because of the connection between seeing and the senses, and the special wisdom, the decision for action is not considered a valid cognition. Some say that the knowledge of seeing is a valid cognition, and that from that, determining the nature of having special things such as distinguishing is the result. From that there is also entering, from that there is also obtaining, from that there is also happiness, the former is the valid cognition, and the latter is the result.

That which is called "is" is said to be the order. The distinct establishment of individual objects is by the power of the aspect itself, and not by anything else. If the aspect of the consciousness of seeing does not rely on the distinct aspect of individual objects, then how can it become "this is the seeing of this"? Similarly, other consciousnesses such as certainty also obtain their names only in this way. The former cause becomes the cause of the latter, but not the establishment of distinct objects. For that, its own aspect is the establisher. For example: For actions, the doers, even if all are closely connected, whoever is the ultimate different doer, is considered the supreme establisher of it. Even if all causes are closely connected to the action, how is it particularly superior? It is not merely the establishment of the action, but even if it exists, that which does not offer to the action, that itself is the supreme establisher. For example, even if the senses and so on exist, if the distinct aspect of individual objects is not obtained due to distant objects and so on, then at that time, the complete severance of the object with its aspect will not exist. Because that which is without interval from it is the action, it itself is the establisher. If it is said that it is not the non-distant object itself that is the establisher, it is not so, because even if it is not a distant object, if the sense is impaired, then certainty will not exist. If it is said that non-impairment is the establisher, that is also not so, for example: The non-impairment of the sense is the object due to the difference of its aspect of experience, therefore it is decisive. Is it not the aspect itself that becomes decisive? Is the non-impairment of the sense determined by the aspect the cause of the distinct existence of individual objects? That is not good, for example: If certainty is established, then it exists as the object, for the established, what other non-causes can increase? When certainty is not established, the non-impairment of the sense is not the establisher. If it is established, then it itself exists as the object, therefore the non-impairment of the sense is meaningless. From the establishment of the object, even if it is contradictory, it is not the establisher, because for what is already established, establishment is impossible.
