If that is the case, then it is not possible to eliminate it. This, the very nature of being eternally existent without a cause, how can it be eliminated when it has an eternal cause? If it is inseparable from the cause, how can a thing be eliminated? Whatever thing is made by a cause, that will disappear when that cause is absent. If it still exists even without that cause, from what will this disappear? An impermanent thing with a cause will be eliminated by the absence of the cause. For something with a permanent cause, there is no elimination by the absence of a cause. Therefore, suffering and its cause, impermanence, are always regarded as permanent due to the distinctions of impermanence, etc. Because if the cause remains as it is, there is no seeing the elimination of the result. In order to destroy its cause, one contemplates its opposing factors. If some permanent things like Ishvara are the cause of suffering, then because of that, it will not disappear, so suffering cannot be eliminated, you might think. Therefore, one will not engage in eliminating the result. No one engages in what is incapable, and even if one engages, one will not be deceived. One contemplates the opposing factors of what is the cause of the result in order to abandon the cause. What arises does not cease without being connected to an antidote, and without an antidote, it will not become causeless. If it is eliminated merely from being causeless, or if it is eliminated from the exhaustion of karma, if others think so. That is not so, because karma changes from ignorance, so it is not exhausted. It will be shown that the cause of karma and suffering is ignorance, therefore there is no fault. If the nature of the cause of suffering is uncertain, because it is the nature of many things such as suffering and separation. Then it cannot be eliminated, to this it is said: Clinging to self and what belongs to self, Is attachment, the object of aggregates. It is the cause, its destroyer, Seeing selflessness is contradictory. The cause of suffering is attachment caused by clinging to self and what belongs to self. If attachment is eliminated, then the mind will not suffer from the decline of what belongs to self. If one is free from attachment, then the mind will not suffer from the decline of what belongs to self, but for oneself, what is done from the body

How then does one not become the suffering of the aggregates? Here is the explanation: What suffering is greater than the suffering of others? Because in that there is no self, happiness, etc. Because of being attached to what is mine, attachment to self will be reversed. Because of attachment to a son, being separated from attachment to self, even the physical suffering arising from connection with weapons, etc., will not become an object. Attachment to self and what is mine also comes from viewing the aggregates as self, therefore, the cause of suffering is viewing the aggregates as self. Therefore, seeing selflessness is harmful, because it is contradictory. A dharma that is completely contrary to that is its harm, like warmth and oiliness in the wind, etc. Therefore, if selflessness becomes its master, then the view of the aggregates as self, which is the opposite of that, is impermanent, therefore it will be reversed. Therefore, as self-grasping is reversed, all suffering of body and mind will be reversed. If the body is cut and burned, etc., how will it not become suffering such as death? That is not the case, because after being separated from that body, there is no other death. The formation of another body is birth, what suffering is there in that? When one is separated from one body and connected to another body, and the previous and subsequent states are clear in memory arising from habituation, it is like abandoning and taking on the states of late life and old age in memory, like changing clothes, what harm is there in that? Without grasping at the connection, one will not be tormented. That which one is accustomed to is itself the cause of manifest happiness, but if one is accustomed to ordinary things, one will not become happy or suffer. If one is very accustomed to equanimity, even if harm is done to the body and possessions, one will not be tormented, because the view of beings has been reversed. That is explained as follows: In various ways and with many methods, through habituation over a long period of time, the faults and virtues in that will become very clear. By seeing selflessness, one is separated from all causes that completely confuse desire, etc., and realization increases, when one becomes accustomed to many other different methods, the faults and virtues will become clear, if one becomes accustomed to the treatises, the faults of the treatises will also
