No. If it were not so, then nothing would be named, because naming is preceded by a definite capacity. Naming has a general object, therefore the connection does not depend merely on clarity. Thus, when the eyes, etc., which follow agitation, etc., arise from the difference of habituation, then, from seeing something that has become like that, one infers that it will become like that. In the first birth, such a causal faculty is not observed, therefore, because it arises from the faculties of other births. The distinction between this life or another is unreasonable. However, that faculty is the only one, therefore, if it is not proven that the later faculties are produced by the earlier ones, then, even if it is allowed, because seeing habituation precedes agitation, etc., because it is seen in agitation, etc., the inference that it has become like that is established, so others are meaningless. Whether it is one or not one, this is not necessary, because in any case, from seeing such a fruit, it is inferred that the cause is like that. It has already been shown that the merit arising from habituation is seen in dreams in other bodies. Furthermore, because other changes are seen, only other lives are established. Therefore, in the intermediate state, because other faculties produce other faculties. Therefore, the faculties of other lives are not produced. If the transformation into one's own essence is different, then it is not the only one, like earth, etc. However, if it is said that because it is understood as one continuum here, it is not very different, then this is the same for other lives, because other lives also belong to the same continuum like sleeping and waking, because memory is interrupted, it is understood as if it were far away. If the faculties do not arise from the faculties themselves, but initially arise from the body itself, and later from the faculties themselves, because the capacity is definite, then the explanation for this is, if

If it arises from the body, it will become ashes as before. If it is said to arise from the mind, then other bodies will also arise from that itself. If things arise from the body, do they arise from a body with senses or from one without senses? If they arise from a body with senses, it is because they arise from the senses themselves. Then, the first also arises from the senses, and other worlds will be completely accomplished. If it arises from a body without senses, then the tips of hair and nails, and even from a dead body, will arise. If there are multiple selves, then multiple senses will also arise. If that is so, it will become limitless. Similarly, why does the body's ability decline? Or, if the senses are merely a special manifestation of the body's transformation, then it will also become indestructible, because the senses arise from the body. And so on, these are faults. Or, because there is no mind, a dead body does not produce senses. If that is so, then it arises from the mind, and from that mind itself, other bodies and minds of other lives will arise. What is the use of clinging to the notion that it is the cause of the senses from before? Therefore, other bodies are not the cause of consciousness. Therefore, because the body that is not the cause is incomplete, there is no other life, and because it is not non-existent, it is not without connection, so it is said: Therefore, because it is separated from the cause, all the minds of the last [moment] are not without connection, therefore, such a proposition is considered to have residue. This is the conclusion. The cause connected with other lives is the mind manifestly conditioned by karma with desire, and that is not incomplete. If the body is the cause, then if that is incomplete, because it is separated from the cause, it will become without connection. But it is not so. Therefore, because it is not separated, the reason is not established. Because it is the mind of death, that itself is the body, and that also has residue, because merely not seeing shows the nearness of decline. Whatever mind of this life is not connected with another mind, because it dwells in a different body, like the mind of Devadatta, it is not right to say that. The negation that abides by the blocking of the basis, the negation has been said before.
