It is like the nose, body, and taste. For example, although the senses and forms, tastes, etc., are not mutually dependent, they do exist together for a certain period of time. The very entities of the support and the supported are the cause of existing together. If it changes, it is because of the change. Just as the eyes, etc., are the support of eye consciousness, etc., if the body changes due to bile disorders and poisons, etc., it will become the nature of confusion of mind, etc., so is it the entity of support and supported? That is not so, because things change through the way they are apprehended. Because of the habit of unbearable suffering, it harms the mind, so it will become that kind of change. Striking with weapons, etc., the mind makes the mind suffer by focusing on the object, but it does not become the support. The object is what causes the change from the outside, but it is not the entity of the support, because even without it, suffering arises merely through fabrication. Therefore, through the fabrication of the mind, there are external and internal appearances. Through the changing mind of it, it will become that change. The support and the object are not the same, therefore the body is not its support. Therefore, the afflicted mind does not depend on the body. What its support is, that will be explained later. Before and after are merely fabricated objects, because there is nothing else, so the mind is without object and without support. Furthermore, merely providing assistance is not the cause of its removal. The special cause is what removes the result. What is the special cause that removes the result? This is explained: Because it always follows it, whatever exists can provide assistance. Therefore, that cause is called the seventh and arising. Whatever exists can provide assistance. This cause is what removes the result by reversing it. How does it provide assistance? By always following it, by following its way. Following is following in connection, whatever exists can follow at all times.

It is helpful because of being related. If something can sometimes help, even if it does not exist, sometimes it arises from other benefits of special qualities, which is not always followed, which is reasonable. That is the opposite, but that is not the opposite. Having a body is not always helpful, because even if the previous mind transforms, it sometimes transforms. Therefore, having transformed into the transformation of the mind, because of it being close to stability, sometimes even without a body, there is a continuum of mind, which is possible. It is also not established that the body is the cause of constant benefit, as follows: Whether reason itself or another, whether born or in another form, who recognizes that the body is the cause? This is what is recognized. For that, for a while, since wisdom has not arisen, it is not known whether "I arise from this" or "have arisen." Even the wisdom that has arisen, whether it is focused on the nature of "I" itself or on another, since it is recognition itself, how does one recognize another? I recognize from this. It is not possible to recognize another by focusing on another. Then, for the eye and other consciousnesses, since that is also recognition itself, how does one recognize the eye and others as the cause? No, because for them, there is recognition of following and reversing. For example, the very opening of the eyes by a person is what becomes recognition, and immediately seeing the form, is what becomes recognition. The body that first arises is not recognized as the cause. Knowledge that did not exist before is contradictory to being the knower itself. If it is recognized by another, how does one recognize what did not exist before? Invisible, without an object, is not proof of non-existence. Waking up from sleep exists. If there was no previous knowledge as an object, then, for it, the dream consciousness, the recognition that did not exist before does not exist. However, if there was wisdom about it before, it would become self-awareness, because the awakened person sees the memory of the dream experience. That is not the case, either there is no recognition, or even if there is, it will be forgotten. What the awakened person does in the dream...
