If there is change, how can the useless be the agent? If even knowing, like potters etc., if it is thought to be driven, because there is no difference, Ishvara (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) would also be driven by others. However, if it is said that self-nature is omniscient, this established manifest expression, will it become the driver of all? Who would know it to be so? Furthermore, whatever is done after examining oneself, Ishvara (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) is not the agent there. The wisdom of all itself is not a valid measure possessed by Ishvara (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning). Because the cause is instructions etc., from instructions other than that, because it is the revealer, it is without beginning, and all desires are fulfilled. Therefore, all entries are not driven by Ishvara (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning). Therefore, the agent of primordial matter and purusha etc. is not necessarily determined. Because it possesses the distinction of shape, this is not a valid reason, because it has not been seen that all shapes are preceded by purusha. Because it can be seen even from the mere difference of causes such as seeds, like the shapes of trees etc. How is that? The shapes of trees etc. are also mind, related to cause and effect. Similarly, what is called primordial matter, the contained pots etc. will also possess that. Like that, from a tree, the seed of the cause of the tree arises, similarly, the pot also arises from the lump of clay contained by the pot, potters etc. are always considered to be its masters. If it is said to be color and body, that is not so, because the lump of clay is also like that. The seed of a tree produces shapes of different kinds, even a well-trained sentient being cannot do that. If the lump of clay is not shaped by the potter? No, because the lump of clay is also like that. The lump of clay is the nature of the same color and shape, for example, the seed of a crow possesses the color and shape of a crow tree. How is that? It is said here, if color and shape are not self-nature, if there is no ability in the seed, because there is no seed of the cause, where does the result come from? If it is said that Ishvara (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) does it, is it not from something other than the seed? Like that, it has already been refuted before, that is the cause.

How does it exist? The tree that is the cause of the seed does not exist at the time of the seed's fruit, therefore it is not the cause of the shape. Nor is it Īśvara, because the cause of trees of different kinds does not arise from the seed. If Īśvara were its cause, then how would the shape of the tree not arise from seeds of different kinds? Therefore, the shape of the tree itself, which exists in the seed of the tree in the nature of potentiality, is manifested. For example, just as the lamp of a boy and girl dwelling in a dark cave, so too does the potter reveal the shape from the lump of clay. When the potter makes pots and so on, the shape arises from the shape itself existing in the nature of potentiality. Therefore, the enjoyer, such as the potter, is the sense faculty itself, but there is no agent for it. Because it desires to enjoy it, the principal of the nature of potentiality enters in that way. As it is said: For the sake of the enjoyment of the person, the principal fully enters, for the sake of the accomplishment of the spectators, just like performing the viewing of a dance. Therefore, the opposite of having an intelligent cause is established. However, since the individual selves of persons are different, there must be one Īśvara of all, whose nature is separate from desire and so on. If it is not so, then when one wants to enjoy something, the principal will enter, then who will indicate the separate determination of shapes and colors and so on to the persons of samsara? This has already been explained, just as the spectators, from seeing the presentation from beginningless time, are satisfied with wanting to see, the performers fully engage in the dance, so too are the persons of samsara. Because of not knowing, milk, how does it enter for the sake of producing a calf? Likewise, this entry of the principal, for what reason is it not desired? Therefore, by seeing the nature endowed with ultimate bliss and so on, it becomes the cause of all natures such as bliss, and just that is complete, so Īśvara is not established. This is also not logical, because things are preceded by understanding, because it is not the object. That cause is...
