If it becomes "that," then it does not exist, because it is not in the form of that. To recognize happiness and so on that enters the mind through the experience of not having become its own nature, or to be in union with it. So, because it is related by union, experience and mind appear to be one, is that what is thought? Having the form of direct recollection, what is this mind apart from experience? What else is clung to as mind? If that cognition is a dualistic experience, if there is a valid cognition of difference, shouldn't it be stated as such? Extra clinging and personal experience are merely names. The nature of the object's form that is not experience is the mind, and the experience without form is the nature of realization, is that what is thought? There is no valid cognition for what is called formless experience. If it is not cognized by direct perception, then there is no valid cognition, that is not so, because there is no reason to admit it. For that which has no direct perception, there is also no inference, therefore it is not reasonable to promise. Or, if there is no other experience, then happiness and so on would become without experience, is that so? If one experiences through self-awareness, what contradiction is there? Nomenclature is completed by that alone, therefore others are meaningless. What if again: If you do not want other experiences, then at the time of liberation, liberation from happiness and suffering, if there is nothing, how can there be liberation? If one completely abandons one's own nature, then it will become without a phenomenon, one's own nature cannot be abandoned. Regarding the differences of happiness and so on, if one realizes that there is no difference in the present state, even so, because it has become an object of action that is more certain of difference, it is possible to abandon it. If this is thought, even if one wishes for this, what is not established by valid cognition will not be established. The meaning of my wish not being established does not make the meaning of no valid cognition become an established object. Causes and so on do not follow the wish without cause, and there is also no valid cognition whatsoever for the fact that things have a cause, because practitioners now dwell in practice and see that there are parts. Because at the very moment of completion, one sees the abandonment of afflictions.

Now, such an experience arises, and for experiences such as happiness, there is no understanding of them as being different. It is the same in the state of liberation, so there is no contradiction. Therefore, relying on this and that meaning, experiences such as happiness and suffering, it is seen that only one arises, and nothing else is seen in between. If it is said that wisdom and happiness, etc., are different because of being different, if it is not so, how can speech become different when there is no difference in meaning? No, it is because it is seen that joy and depression, etc., with various forms, arise as one, and how to name it depends on the intention. The difference in speech is for the purpose of showing the difference in state, just like the speech of seed and sprout, desire, mother, and water. Are the iron lump and fire the same, mixed without distinction? If so, on all things, placing difference and non-difference becomes meaningless. If it is assumed that this is a mixture of two merely because there is an example without measurement, if so, then for all things that are understood as one form, such as pillars, it cannot be established as one. If the one is not established, then it cannot be established as the nature of aggregation, therefore the establishment of the form of all things will collapse, because there is no thing other than one and many. Thus, the experience without difference is one, if that is the case, then whatever is that is difference, having the establishment of this is the establisher, the difference that is established is not established. Therefore, if the one is not established, then neither is established. Therefore, recognizing that there is no difference is one, and the opposite is many, it can be reasoned in this way. According to the view of the Samkhyas, suffering, white, etc., appear as different, if they appear as different, then the experience of wisdom is, if it appears as without difference, then difference, what do difference and non-difference rely on? This is called the intermediate verse. However, why do feelings and thoughts, etc., mental factors, not consider each other as different from the great ones, etc.? Even if they are not considered different, but are considered different, similarly, why not consider wisdom and experience as without difference, recognizing that without difference is one? This is said to belong to the category of mind, from the mind.
